Employees at what was turner have been wondering forever if our jobs are safe. When will we know?? Especially in light of recent news. Any chance ATT will backtrack on streaming plans? Tbs and TNT have had a hiring freeze for a really long time now. Will they be spun off?

OP, I'm sorry to say this but the chances of anything good happening at AT&T in the near future are slim. Executive management has no vision and no sense of their own limitations. They call everything they think of "innovation" and then proceed to reward themselves. Stankey thinks he knows more about producing content than your execs who have been doing it successfully for years. A bellhead like Stankey never should have been allowed to take on a task he is so manifestly unsuited for. And his childish outburst when questioned about the incoherence of the streaming situation should have sealed his fate. The fact it didn't should tell you all you need to know. The rot goes all the way to the top. Until the executives at the top are replaced nothing good will happen.
Your company runs on spur of the moment flights of fancy that become hit shows and makes millions. Our company runs a piece of wire between things that makes stuff go "ring".
What do you think will happen to you.
SBC will destroy everything it touches. SBC destroyed BellSouth and they will destroy Warner.
Honestly, the execs at this place (people that went to college dreaming of careers as accountants and financial analysts...you know, creative types) don't have a clue either. They dream of efficiency in operations so if they think they can get by without your position, they'd like to make that happen.
Probably the best thing that can happen for you folks is for new management to come in and spin off WM.
There is no job security at this place. Not that anyone with any talent whatsoever should want to waste there life at this place anyway.
Your job is not safe. Now you know.
