this isnt some random company att wont make any moves elliot owns $3b worth of stock. big deal. no changes coming and randy wont give up the chairman/ceo seats. this elliot move will come and go without any fireworks
Don't forget all the valuable real estate they are selling to stay afloat. Eventually they will run out of property to sell.

I guess, to be honest, I have to say I’ve never heard it said quite that way before! I got the gist of it.
That said, Elliott Management is a small timer in percentage of T stocks owned and wouldn’t even be invited to the poker table, much less as an alternate...not enough chips in the game to threaten the T board, and here’s why.
The top 5 institutional mutual funds have 40% of T stock between them:
Vanguard - 14%
Black Rock - ~11.6%
State Fund - ~7.4%
And two more that bring up the rear at ~4.5% & 2.6%
They will make some noise, but that’s about it. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had been buying in over a long period, made the announcement to spike the stock and sold when the stock was higher earlier this morning.
One month from now it will be just “dust in the wind.”
Someone called it on another thread “Vulture Fund” which is true. It’s not good. But what is worse, how did the company get anywhere near to a point where this could be possible. Ten years ago I would never put AT&T and hedge fund in the same sentence.

Not their choice, Do some research on the Elliott guys, these guys don’t take no for an answer. If they can go after Samsung in Korea, causing the heir to end up in jail, randy boys are nobodies
