Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATT is maddening

I can't get in email, I stay on phone with ATT people for hours, and then give up. No help. They are maddening to do everything now and they never were like this. I am looking at all other providers of wifi and phone service as I am sick and tired of this. I write down everything in a folder like passwords and such and they ask me security questions from maybe 15 or 20 years ago. Then, they will finally ask me things more current, though still old and I get to pay my bill. They are just so inefficient on everything. Either they are too big now or they do not teach any of their workers. I have had it.

Part of your problem is that you are complaining on an AT&T employee layoff site, an audience who can not actually help you, because their knowledge has been separated from their access to the systems that could be used to fix your problem.

Your complaints are being handled as AT&T intends, that is, it is outsourced to foreign contractors whose supervisors "don't exist" for you to escalate to, in a maddening circle intended to get you to give up.

Whatcha gonna do? Go to Verizon? Stephenson doesn't care. He gets to hang out with the glitteratzi, which beats the he-double-hockey-sticks out of the lineman job he came from.

Are you using ISP provided email accounts? What fool does that? Go get another account so you can change service providers without constantly changing your email address.

Insider showed a fancy new support center in Houston that had lots of murals on the walls. Too bad they closed a lot of others with experienced people in them. But those probably didn't have murals so they had to be shut down.

As more and more AT&T employees are surplussed, a lifetime of knowledge goes with them. This includes all the domestic customer support workers who have been replaced by foreigners reading from a script, often times you can even understand what they're saying.

An unskilled, high turnover workforce might work adequately at a hamburger restaurant, but it is a recipe for disaster at a large highly complex organization.

Way to go Randall, you goon.

It's that they've outsourced all customer service to third party companies who have untrained employees who don't care. The amount of actual AT&T employees is decreasing daily. Sad but true from a 30 year employee. I'm at my wits end and they've finally made me start thinking about retiring. Unfortunately, that's exactly what they want. No appreciation for my life's work, just leave already.

You sound like you're kind of a dipstick and making things way to complicated. How about providing some actual details as to what you are really complaining about.
