Turner remodeled a Truckload of open office space, for its control room operators! They have operators running around leashed to their cellphones, laptops, etc and running proprietary software on these things! Why NOT work from home! For the first time, TV control room operators can now work from home like the rest of miserable society. So why isn't the company allowing them to! They sit at the console, with thousands of dollars of installed equipment and software, only to pull out a laptop with redundant capacity and productivity. Let these people not make stupid Atlanta commutes and risk their lives in Atlanta traffic! You'll save your stinking money.
I remember when I first started with the company that people would place the six sigma title under their names and for the longest time I along with others thought they were part of a karate clan. Later, I was introduced to it and found it nothing special to write home about. It was a sign to others that they were a part of the management club and shared the same philosophy.
The whole concept was a bs attempt to save money.
