Surplus got canceled ?

Where was this stated; I didn’t see anything from the union or the company.

My understanding is it was cancelled for I&M but not for C&E but the off payroll/bumoing/shifting wont happen until the middle of November.

It is hard to match up everyone's choices on their surplus sheet. People live in different states and some may have picks in other states which may conflict with someone's pick there.

They could have a computer program do it, but it probably would have to be changed after each new contract especially the newest one that hasn't been approved yet.

When I was surplused the human resources person who handled mine really knew the contract well.

It got extended, not cancelled. Staffing was too overwhelmed in handling this large of a surplus. Last year during a much smaller surplus they had to extend it a month because they were unable to coordinate the bumping process in time. The layoffs will continue, although it’s a little funny that AT&T has shot itself in the foot because they understaff staffing the same way they do with everyone else.
