@1vya, I met him a couple of times too, had chances to talk about a variety of topics, yes, also perhaps the smartest person I've ever met. I've also met RS and the other top brass, also had a chance to speak with them personally, as well. Only Ralph gave me the impression he had his business together, all the others, seems like empty suites, reading scripts, putting on an act, and in general are total boot lickers with giant egos. Met Stankey, he is just as big a jerk and bully in person as he is in town halls and other public settings. I just don't know what RS or anyone else sees in this @$$h@t.

I think we have to have more outrageous payouts like this before people get it. Some people realize that it is a phony meritocracy but not enough people YET. There are still apologists for the grifters that take compensation totally out of proportion with their contribution or intelligence but not as many as before. The "you should have studied harder and become an executive" lie is getting harder to fool people with. After being propagandized for 40 years the charade is finally over. More of us are seeing through the "divine right of executives". Every outrageous payout just greases the wheels of the tumbrils that will carry them to the guillotine. The whole system is rotten and as soon as a critical mass of people get it these clowns will be swept away. Our "leaders" are increasingly desperate to keep we proles in the dark but as I said it's getting a lot harder to convince the majority that this is the way it should be.

Those of you angry about the fact the guy is getting a payout as he walks out the door just need to get a grip. Standard practice. If you're angry that you don't receive executive compensation, you should have studied harder. You can't compare your deal to theirs. Apples and oranges. I applaud the guy for recognizing where things are at and choosing to walk. I met him a couple times and left with the impression that he is probably the smartest guy I ever met. I have met a lot of other execs too and frankly did not get that feeling. Best of luck to JD.

Ah, you know what? He deserves it. Job must have taken years off his life. And it's basically half of his annual $14 million salary, pretty much in line with a regular management severance. I actually kind of admire him for jumping ship. It'll be interesting too see where he lands. He's an incredibly smart guy; if you think he's "retiring", you're crazy.
