Hahahaha, an offer of one years wages? How far in the past do you live? They don't need to offer one years wages for people to leave. Can you imagine how many people will start waiting for 2 years of wages instead? Much better to surplus the deadwood and move on.

100% to entice a YES vote on the TA.

Wire techs are still surplussed I think. I think only STs and FTs got a stay.

It was canceled because they saw that the load is to much removing all of those employees. Finally upper management made a rational decision.

“Now the D3 cancellation was just I&M, not C&E correct?“

Correct.

If they'd just make an offer of even 1 year's wages the staffing people wouldn't be overwhelmed with surplus because there wouldn't be a need for surplus.

Heard that the staffing folks that handle surplusses are overwhelmed with 50 cuts, so the 911 was more than they could bear. Look for the surplus to happen again over the next few quarters. Just the way I heard it, nothing to validate it.

I don't know about the SE but here in the MW, they say it got canceled as part of the contract negotiations.
