Techmahindra doesn't do testing well. Not creative in their test plan.
They are good at making themselves look very capable.
Heard that contractors going to TM will have to take a pay cut.
Just doing the needful
for what it is worth, a few of the applications moved are considered strategic and handle mostly proprietary information/customer proprietary information/sensitive proprietary information.
May want to consider who will be handling YOUR information shortly...
Here's an interesting thought:
Stephenson's biggest concern is pension liability.
80% of those sent to Tech M were within 5 years of meeting the rule of 75 ( the point at which pension maintenance costs become T's concern, as well as retirement benefits ).
wonder whats happening with other vendor like accenture , kforce due to this deal .
Heard TM also give 14% as cashback to T from each penny given to them.
I found the OP's article a bit confusing. Here's a better article.
https://www.lightreading.com/cloud/digital-transformation/atandt-hires-tech-mahindra-for-cloud-move/d/d-id/753929
"In other words: AT&T is moving in with Microsoft; Tech Mahindra are the guys who get to carry the furniture upstairs."
And here's an op-ed.
https://www.lightreading.com/cloud/digital-transformation/even-atandt-cant-fly-solo-to-the-cloud/d/d-id/753930
"5G requires migrating business processes to the cloud, but even AT&T can't make the migration on its own, leading to a partnership with Tech Mahindra to do the heavy lifting, says Heavy Reading analyst Jennifer Clark. "
Shameful and disgusting.. no respect for this company anymore.
I heard about 200 employees & 400 contractors under Chewning. About the same for Carlton, I believe. Effective 10/15. About 400 applications going to TM.
Todd Carlton and Ward Chewning’s org were impacted.
The company would prefer to have the MAJORITY of ALL jobs either contracted out or offshore..Except for HQ...
In the companies eyes, they have to cut costs in order to offset ALL this debt we recently incurred. We are still buying other companies, not just at the same scale as DTV or TW.
Do you notice a pattern.....Buy,buy,buy......Offshore,offshore,
Offshore.....Contract, contract,contract......Layoffs,layoffs,layoffs.....
So much for the American workers and all these “new hard hat jobs that were promised.”
What orgs/VP's are moving to TechM ????
So glad i don't give att any of my money anymore. They will never get another dime from me. I will never recommend them to any one or any business.
AI, Data Analytics, 5G? What a joke? Been interacting with TechM for a long time, the only thing they do good is testing. They don’t pay enough money or have a name brand to attract talent. Whoever did this deal doesn’t know how hard it is to acquire skill set in AI, DevOps, 5G etc. and why a person with the skill set will never work for a low wage body shop like TechM. The AT&T board should fire the whole upper management till SVP level For incompetence, it will save a lot of jobs and will improve the company!!
The key takeaway from the www.economictimes.indiatimes.com article is: “It is about helping the customer transform the network, core IT and applications portfolio… and we will take full ownership, which would potentially involve employees, other vendors and various elements around the transformation journey. The two companies will work together to improve agility in rolling out and supporting networks of the future, while improving returns on investment through technology-led transformation…integrating several world-class technologies and platforms in areas like artificial intelligence, DevOps, data analytics and 5G.”
But what about jobs for Americans? It's not about any of the above; it's about money. Why doesn't Randall simply move the headquarters to Pune?
Yeah, they made a deal. Did you have an opinion about it or just wanted to share what everyone already knew?
