To those that have been 'reassigned' to TechM, or IBM, or Accenture - the executives of this company are LITERALLY STEALING up to 6 months pay from you, along with benefits. And many of them will be rewarded with extra bonus money as a 'thank you' from above. They all know you'll most likely be replaced with less expensive resources after your 1yr contract has expired - this little trick just lets them wash their hands of it.
Verizon outsourced about 20,000 positions to Infosys at the end of last year, it happens.... BUT, those people were given a choice to accept the position, or receive 3 weeks severance for every year of service, up to 2 years of severance. That is Ethical - AT&T's 'solution' should be criminal.
Randall and his associates in HQ have made it clear they don't care about the welfare of the company's employees - but I can assure you they DO care about the power that lawmakers have over their honeypot. Employees need to reach out to their representatives in the government, make sure they are aware of what's going on here. If enough do this, it WILL be noticed - and eventually addressed.
Remember Randall talking a few years ago about how proud he was of his work at The Business Roundtable? The group that now has this as their Mission Statement?
"U.S. corporations play a vital role in American society as engines of creativity, innovation and economic opportunity. The long-term success of these companies and the U.S. economy depends on businesses investing in the economic security of their employees and the communities in which they operate. From offering competitive wages and benefits to developing training programs to enrich the skills of students and adult workers, leading U.S. employers are creating opportunities for Americans to secure well-paying jobs and build fulfilling careers."
