Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

When will we be done with layoffs?

I don't mean that literally. Layoffs will always be a threat. My question is when will the company have the form that the leadership plans it to have, and where there will bee no fear of mass restructuring?

Layoffs because VZ's traditional wireline business will be sold for a very very low US dollar amount. Remaining assets wireless, 4g, and 5g will not be enough to remain solvent as you can compare to AT&T and Comcast.

Karma will happen, it amazes me that all you care about is yourselves, and not the people that are gone and no longer employed due to the evil constant rounds of layoffs. The ageism that took place, the bias that HR does in the name of diversity. The ruining of companies that were acquired, and destroyed, to feed the 1% 's bottom line. Be happy that you are still employed. Try to hold on to what you have. Remember the grass is not always greener on the other side, the job market is worse than you think. It is not as wonderful as the posters to this blog state. Remember that more employees have been riff'd and will be let go than thru vsp or buyouts.

Please do not forget MCI, GTE, and XO , the acquired companies that VZ wanted for the technology and customers not the employees, And in the case of XO the wireless spectrum for 5G

NY Tel, Nynex, Bell Atlantic, Verizon.
Each new company was worse than the last. Especially the last 2.
My feeling is 5G is going to be the last straw. It doesn’t work as well as they want, and some towns are already saying no to all the antennas.
They’ll blame craft, the moon, the stars, and...restructure

You prove you do not have longevity in this company. It has gone in waves over the last 32 yrs I have been with Verizon.

They started in Verizon when it formed and have continued. Always rearranging musical chairs. Outsource. Insource. Their only management technique is try something different enough and blame before.

When the company collapses under the weight of it's own stupidity. Then we'll all be looking for jobs.
As far as selling wireline, I'm not sure about that. Frontier has been burned twice now. I don't think they're coming back a third time. But, you never know......

When we get to about 75,000 FTE's. Part of getting to that number will be the sale of wireline.

So we are halfway there right now.
