Your union dues at work. Keep paying them, those $200k-$500k salaries depend on it.

The way unions and minimum wage laws work is they concentrate wages among a group of people(those with seniority) and leave others. Yeah, the union/minimum wage might make more $’s for you but it’s keeping someone wise from getting a job at all.
Spicing your posts with personal insults doesn’t make your argument stronger, can only get your post nuked by web admins.
I quoted you below. I have to laugh at your
poor attempt to convince those of us who are CWA members to leave because at&t will take better care of us. You talk about the union spending money on politicians and lobbying. Well duh. That’s how the game is played in America isn’t it? Senators , congressmen, and judges are all all wh–es selling themselves to the highest bidder. By the way, guess who is consistently in the top ten of money spent on lobbying Washington DC and we are talking billions. At&t. CWA can’t even compete with the money at&t the spends on politicians so you’re just arguing against yourself. Read your own quote below. You can apply that more accurately to at&t execs than anyone. You actually think you can convince us that Randy and his boys , who’s compensation is in the millions , will better negotiate our pay and benefits with us as individuals ? As I said in another post , all anyone has to do is look how At&t pays and treats it’s non management , non union (NMNU-global) workers. They are paid substantially less. We make more than our own field service managers lol. So try harder. You’re doing a bad job at arguing we’d be better off without a union.
“”The more money you make, the more money they make. The bulk of that money is then spent on politicians and lobbying. The executives that take your money make exponentially more than you do, and then toss a handful of peanuts on the ground in front of you and claim your all “brothers and sisters”.””
The purpose of this thread is not to troll, but rather to illustrate the fact that the union is not some altruistic group fighting only for you wellbeing and livelihoods. You are simply cogs in their machine. They force themselves into the position of being able to sit between you and the company that pays you. They use you guys as leverage to make the company pay them more, indirectly through your hard work and paycheck. The more money you make, the more money they make. The bulk of that money is then spent on politicians and lobbying. The executives that take your money make exponentially more than you do, and then toss a handful of peanuts on the ground in front of you and claim your all “brothers and sisters”. Yes, this means your wages and benefits slowly creep up, so to a degree everyone does win in this agreement. The employees putting in the sweat win the least, so you guys can’t act like the union is some benevolent organization that only cares about and serves you. It’s all a political shell game, so being part of it doesn’t make you “better” than those that opt out of the union. When the union extremists start insulting those that disassociate, it simply shows how basically your mind works to not be able to see the big picture. We support you in your endeavors, it’s time you starting supporting us in ours. Don’t be a caricature, instead try employing the part of your brain that processes logic and think about what union really fights for. Hint...it’s not YOU.
Yes, a NMNU senior field service representative does the same exact job as a union systems tech and they only make about 60k-65k a year.
It pays to be union.
That’s fine by me. I don’t care how much CWA leadership gets paid as long as they keep getting me more $$$$. With this latest 13 percent bump, my base pay goes over 90k by year 5. And then there’s more standby pay, OT etc.
I’m not bragging. I’m pointing out that it pays to be unionized. I have co-workers that do the same exact job as me but make almost a third less just because they are non union. The point is , for those who think they can negotiate a better wage on their own with At&t are sadly mistaken.
@ayz You can happily keep paying your dues. The politicians need your support, as well as the union executives. With just the money given to federal democrat politicians every single person on strike (20,000 people) could have gotten $1250 each in strike pay. That’s IF your union wasn’t designed to take money from the members and funnel it to politicians. No wonder they keep trying to get you raises. The more you get, the more they get, the more they can give to wealthy politicians. You’re a human ATM machine for them.

Strike pay doesn’t strike until after 15 consecutive days of the work stoppage. Why are you asking such a basic question on a public site? Can you not call your local or read your contract book?
I’ll happily keep paying my dues. Compare the pay and benefits that I receive to a non-union non management tech that does the same job at At&t. They make considerably less and have no job security. I love my union :)
73000 dollars for a part time employee. I’m about to be surplused. I wonder if their hiring.
