Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Thanks CWA for striking

You just saved the company a billion dollars a year in salaries alone, not to mention. how much AT&T contributed towards employees pensions, stock match & healthcare... This isn't the 70's folks; we are global now.

Lol just because people are looking for a 38 dollar job doesn’t make them qualified. My step son wants a $100 dollar an hour job but he’s only qualified to take out my trash.

Managers, you don’t have your benefits because of unions but in spite of them. A $ paid to these guys that think hard work= refusing to work is a $ not paid to you

Yes, thanks CWA for striking!

I'm AT&T management being deployed for a contingency assignment that is very inconvenient for me and everyone else in my position, but even and id–t like me recognizes that I wouldn't have my job and my benefits without unions doing what they do and have done. When they do better, we all do better.

Hats off and stay strong!

customers are leaving because att does not put any money in support services because it doesn't make randy and the johns 200000% profit. that is why people are leaving. they raise the prices and give less service. all this great automation is saving money - the money just isn't getting passed on to the customer.

Suuuure it's a pure money saver for them. Not like it cost them any extra money to force thousands of OT hours in prep for such a thing. No extra money to handle logistics of securing contractors and organizing managers to do work many are not familiar with. Not like it'll cost any extra money to get back to BAU when it's over. Certainly doesn't matter that lost revenue from cancellations/credits due to supportive or angry customers counts as a profit cost. Not even to dare mention the future profits perhaps dwindled by added political pressure toward denying their grand scheme of cutting a company-heavy contract. Nah, they don't gotta pay out a few days of paychecks so it's purely win-win for the company.
