Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Most companies that bought into verint fake marketing regret it as it’s not really improved productivity. Instead ruined employee morale and loss of good talent. By the time they don’t use verint dpa as performance metric, it’s too late as they have already lost good employees.

Employees are leaving. Going to have major loss in training and hiring people only for them to leave. Nobody enjoys micromanaging job. If employees are unhappy they perform worse for company.

I have analyzed the verint AI situation using my own innate intelligence and have determined that it is in the best interest of my fellow human being and co-worker to shut down the Verint systems workforce management application. At the end of the day or maybe the eon, it remains to be seen who will ultimately win this battle between David and Goliath. However, speaking in general, non AI terms or metrics, most people love an underdog........keep the human faith

the verint system can be easily deactivated by going into the control panel and de- selecting it from the list of installed and running programs. Management would prefer you not know this. Yes, this will eventually send a red flag to the management. However, as the system is running on AI, faulty and loaded with bugs there is no way to determine what has caused the 'malfunction'. One might even conclude that the AI has determined that its best solution is to turn itself off rather than participate in the Humana workforce. Just one of many possible solutions. There is no way to determine, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the user has deliberately pulled Verint's plug. lol

Verint is like no other monitoring system. It is an AI (artificial intelligence) human management system. You are being monitored and controlled by a machine - the same as every other Humana employee. Some might consider this an insult to the innate intelligence that they were born with. Once the user has logged into the verint system he/she has now entered the the verint artificial sci fi, workforce management solutions twilight zone. Control like this can be easily abused. I would not have it in the home or office. I immediately planned my exit from Humana when this system was installed rather than continue logging into the verint twilight zone. As humans, we still do maintain some free will. Quitting Humana, has been the most intelligent workforce management decision I have ever made. The quality of my life is better and I'm a far happier person not having to co-exist with a computer. I'm pursuing a completely different line of work completely grounded in the human zone and metrics free.

I took a training using only the mouse and verint showed me as idle the whole time. I only used the mouse to change the pages on the training. Then get email from "coach" wondering what I was doing. So it does not work on all applications.

exactly, so stupid, my metrics are way up, but showing like 31% idle time on a busy day, I mean really??? so ridiculous.

If you aren't constantly moving your mouse or typing, you will show idle at 61 seconds. Not all applications measure activity and reports are notoriously wrong so beware.

Plus they can already tell what we do by talk time, contacts, read our documentation, listen to our calls...My coach said not to worry about idle time she said she is not constantly monitoring. That is what she said to me. However she did IM a couple co workers for their idle time, so who knows what to believe. If we were doing good jobs before the need for this detailed surveillance seems like overkill.

Verint reduces us to nothing more than grist in the Humana money mill. There is no good reason to release this type of sophisticated surveillance upon a well meaning and unsuspecting workforce. What are they searching for?? Verint allows calls to be sorted and screened in a myriad of ways - not necessarily health insurance related. As an example, pick any word and verint can screen all calls searching for that particular word. I can see how this can be abused. Slowness and inaccuracy appear to be typical complaints. As medical professionals, I think we deserve more respectful treatment.
