What would absolutely k–l this company, and it will never happen now, would be for the federal government fund a nationwide open multiple ISP fiber optic network with 100% coverage for all residents. Low fixed cost to operate multiple ISPs and it undercuts the incumbents on price. Dozens of Gigabit providers with prices lower than the incumbents.
It can be done, but it’ll be a lot of hard work to defeat the telco lobbies laws.
