looks like uverse isnt dead yet, the word is "legal" says you cant just cut the cord on customers who have uverse, there are over 2 million plus "contracts" on uverse, att will try to offer uverse customers dtv or other services but if the customer takes it but then wants uverse back then att has to give it back to the customer....

I’m keeping my U-verse TV until they shut the lights out!!
The can always sell off a bunch of uverse subs to another provider like Frontier. Something like that happened just a few years back.
It is dead, they will do what was done to pots customs. Price them out.

dead to me because I dropped all att services and will never buy any again as long as I live or any of my family live.
Don’t know how far it goes back but one of the executives said they have a pretty big list of customers who said they were interested in DTV but either couldn’t or wouldn’t put a dish at their home location. Mentioned Osprey to one of those 3rd party sellers at Wal-Mart and she hadn’t heard about it. Was excited to hear about it and hoped they would get the opportunity to sell it because the dish is probably the biggest excuses that customers give for not buying the service. (Don’t know how they would hook up a broadband line in that setting. Ha) I would guess that T is also looking at this as a revenue opportunity and not just a way to get rid of the other offerings.
They won't just shut down uverse, they will use a grandfather clause to keep current customers. Seems ironic all of this taking place as content provider contract disputes and ends are occurring. I smell rotten fish.
There is a very specific process required to "sunset" a service to customers. It takes time to complete and I expect T will start notifying U-Verse customers sometime after the Osprey box is GA.
