The Hub plan does not sound like the greatest idea that Wells Fargo can come up with for it's hopeful continued future as a company. It will cause great expense and great disruption of "business as usual". It may actually become a great downfall for the company profits. THINK.

Main hubs for certain work makes sense.
But not all work requires an onsite presence, and dragging people into an office because some old guy with a C in their title, read a white paper about collaboration and wants to appear in tune with the hip young Millennials is just stupid.
The new bean bags look mighty agile, though.
Hub strategy has been executed for a long time now. It is not new. Teamwork’s had many articles pertaining to the consolidation of sites due to leases and green initiatives. The idea that the hub strategy is to shake people so they don’t have to execute the hub strategy is not valid.
The whole point of the hub strategy is to shake employees loose (make them voluntarily quit). WF knows the strategy won't happen overnight (if at all, in the long run, if WF gets the target staff reductions they are seeking before the time comes to execute hub strategy).
WF wants low-hanging attrition fruit to find employment elsewhere. Hub strategy is, in large part, a massive scare tactic. Period.

Every line of business has different locations as hubs. If you want to know the hubs for your location, ask your manager. Not all LOB’s are the same.
San Francisco and San Antonio are not hub cities for the go forward organization. Yes they have a lot of team members today. But San Francisco is an area 0 and will be reducing its non-customer facing positions to Phoenix. San Antonio will consolidate into Dallas.
IBM is a huge USA company. International Business Machines I think it stands for.
It’s funny nobody has pointed out New York has now become an executive only hub for Sauls organization. Regular people are not allowed to be in New York because it’s too expensive to pay them. Shouldn’t Saul and others based there follow their own direction and co locate with everyone else?
What’s IBM?
Logic would suggest that the "hub" locations would be the Data Center locations and large support offices around them.

Sad that a plan that has been at least 2 years in the making and they can’t even post a list of Hub cities anywhere on teamwork’s.
THINK was the motto of IBM Corporation at one time. They had it engraved on desk name plates, etc.
Just a stand alone desk plate with "THINK" as the only thing on it. It is a good motto. Not sure that they use it anymore. Daddy, who worked for IBM as a Technical Engineering Manager, Marketing Manager, Capacity Planner, etc. brought those THINK items home to place around our house when I was a kid. Wells Fargo needs to "THINK".
What is the supposed benefit of having Wells Fargo "Hubs"? We have survived a very many years at Wells Fargo, and at other companies worked for as well, working with people remotely. Sitting in a "hub" location, but still having to work with business partners at other "hub" locations, via email, teleconferencing, joint shared online meetings where people can remote into other co-workers computers to share what they are seeing. I just do not see any advantage to Wells Fargo consolidating all workers into a few "hub" cities. What is the point? Sitting next to someone in an office these days is just like remotely doing screen sharing sessions with the conference call for the voice meeting.

And just think, the Deloitte weinies er consultants got paid millions to come up with this stupid plan. They tried it at Wachovia and it failed. Now watch it fail again at WF.
