Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

The meeting was useless

Whatever message they were trying to convey today was undermined by the fact they didn’t come ready to address the central issue that most EIT employees care about-location strategy. If we don’t know where we will work, how far we have to drive, if we will have to move, if we will have a job, how our families will cope, then we can’t buy into your lofty goals. Unless we are secure with those fundamental questions about our day to day lives, then it doesn’t matter what they said in the meeting today.

Exactly what @105CMWZ6-kim said.

About 90% of the folks I work with are full time telecommuters, and I'd say there's the usual mix of employee.

Most of the deadwood has been lost over the years, most of the folks are very good at their jobs.

But there are always a few top performers in any group, that stand out even on a great team, and I know a few of those types and they are no where near a "hub".

Saul's gonna lose some good folks.

I have been with wells for 15 years and have worked from home 13 of those years. My team is spread out over the entire country. It just does not make sense to try to get everyone in the same "collocated" space. I just need to make it 5 more years and I can semi-retire.

If you look at the other groups that executed the Location Strategy. They basically targeted folks who were not near a WF area. They did not offer relo or reposting of jobs. The funny thing is one group may consider a WF location as in scope but another group can say that the same location is not in scope for their location strategy. So while we have a call center in South Dakota, those resources may be safe to stay, but other groups who have resources there may say no.
