#fub- Had friend that moved to IBM earlier and after 12 months they were offered jobs at half the salary.

In general, if such a c-appy job offer is refused, is the now IBM employee still able to get state unemployment insurance?

If the initial transfer to IBM is refused by the AT&T employee, is the now AT&T employee still able to get state unemployment insurance?

“What all who got notice should do is "organize" and refuse to go to IBM and let the company immediately fall into total chaos in IT.”

The mentions of "the 12 months will be your severance" is prophetic and true. I was not impacted and, in my own way, envy those of you that know your future and can plan around it.

You have been given a huge window to see what your next move will be. Big ticket purchases can be planned around, the ability to sock away extra funds while pushing out resumes. Pre-Retirees can now see their end game, most of the mysteries have been revealed......the rest of us will wait to see the next T chess move that controls our next move.

All this time the top honchos were laughing at our Board with all the speculation going on, the cries for Severance and all our wasted chatter....I hate to say it this way, but intentional or not, we were out maneuvered and I think we know it.

Twelve months will be our severance. Good luck to T for letting go dedicated employees.

IBM folks (the majority) WFH and IBM does nothing about imposing the workforce to come to the AT&T office to "collaborate" and IBM are paying for dark offices at many locations....There are a handful or less that ever show up to the AT&T office from our experience in working with them.....I doubt that will change.

Summers and Ostapower have about 9k employees combined. Don't know about contractors. What happens to them?

Someone wrote this morning changes could be affecting more than one division. Have to wait and see.

@104ZyqRM-frw My thoughts exactly. Ostapower has no more than 5k. Where is that number coming from?

Yep you are correct. Heart goes out to my friends still at the cesspool waiting for a severance. Glad I left when I did.

Is the ability to WFH affected by moving to IBM?

Good luck. IBM treats its employees like disposable wipes.

The offer is for 12 months at current salary, so look at it this way, you have 12 months to look for another job. Yes I am impacted, I get 12 months to look for something better while working for IBM. Had friend that moved to IBM earlier and after 12 months they were offered jobs at half the salary.
