I was in REO but not in Frederick. I have worked with all of them. Sad news indeed. Prayers going to all of them.

This is real. My husband got his pre-notice while on vacation. Still waiting to hear the actual date and severance details.

This team had been lacking leadership at the site for quite some time. The top level manger at the Frederick site is rarely there... Always some 'personal' situation. Not to mention the 'click' of three managers (including the one previously mentioned) which resulted in a lack of discipline and accountability. No doubt there's a decline in volumes but this lack of leadership shouldn't go unmentioned.

Ok- just to confirm - this is NOT FAKE NEWS PEOPLE - IT IS REAL - I personally know people on the Frederick REO team and they were called into a meeting Tuesday 7/16 @ 10:30am when they received the news from 2 people who arrived at the Frederick office this morning - not sure what pre-notice is as I have not heard of this before - they were told that STAR opportunities would be available if they are interested in applying for the same

It’s true. The numbers are skewed because it was an entire department (REO) including management at the Frederick site which has been whittling away since default (collections, loss mit, bankruptcy) left the Frederick site in 2013ish. The number of those affected is officially 39 who received pre-notices - which is also why it didn’t happen on a Thursday- meaning their jobs are being eliminated (moved to Des Moines) but their 60 day period has not begun.. it is also the same day that WF reported a NET income of $6 billion in Q2 2019, which is a slap in the face if there ever was one.

That's why the OP added "or so", cause he didn't know the the exact number. Two other posters confirmed it's 39. Less people impacted than OP thought, but it does not make them more insignificant.

Another post says it’s 60. Fake accounts, fake news. Fake bank.

Real criminals

If you think this post is BS you don’t know anything about what happens at Wells Fargo. It’s not BS. 39 people were told today in the REO area of Frederick.

What does pre-notice mean? Is there a typical time period for that?
