I left T on my own last year and got a job at a different company, with which I was satisfied. Now my wife landed a good job in a different state and, how things stand right now, we’ll be moving there by the end of summer. I checked out the job market there, and I’ve noticed that AT&T is hiring for positions that my skill set matches. I just wanted to ask how does T deal with hiring people that already left the company on their own? Will they hold that against me if I apply?

So many better companies out there you should definitely look at your new location first.
I’m a rehire. I was gone for over 3 years, have been back for over 5 and my time bridged. No repercussions. Life happens.
Please be respectful and answer the question.....People need to work and believe me when you need a job and have bills to pay you too would return to AT&T. Things are not great here these days but there are a lot of benefits in working for AT&T. I only hope the company can recover from this identity crisis they seem to be having and focus on re-building this company and the employees trust again......
When an employee leaves, the supervisor indicates whether the employee can be rehired. That's why I recommend never needlessly burning bridges with AT&T, a multi-state employer.
Yes AT&T rehires people who left and didn't burned bridges.
OP, nothing wrong in giving it a comeback try. Before the 2015 edict on the March to 2020, it was not uncommon that I saw a number of retirees actually sit out a 3-6 month mandatory period then return as consultants....things are different now but I say give it a shot.
There were two people at my call center that were rehired. Why not?
Hey, no name calling here. This man left on his own terms and is deciding he may want to return the very same way. He and the wife moved to another state, his considerations are different and putting food on the table, paying the bills and perhaps even adding back to a T Pension, for the long run is his choice.
Given him credit for asking a good question so pay him back with appropriate advice.
If you have no other offers and are either about to starve to death or be homeless, only then would I consider coming back to AT&T. Then I would only stay for as long as it took to find another job.
