My team just got a meeting invite from our SVP for 11:00 am CST tomorrow - 7/16. Tech Dev group.
Well, tomorrow is the projected day of the announcement mentioned in this thread. If true, I would have expected a lot more activity as the day approached.
Coincidentally, last week it was reported there is an update to a long standing funding issue for the project I work on (what’s new, thus far it has not been funded for 2019, yep..year is half over) but would not be shared til Wednesday of this week. Based on how info is shared in our group, it is unusual for them to have an update but delay letting us know.

Big announcement is major outsourcing to IBM and possible some to another Consulting group..….IBM has been cleaning house in June, July and August of the previous AT&T outsourced folks.....just in time to bring in the new batch, pick their brains then send the work overseas,,,,,,and Toodeloo,…..This has been happening for years however these days the shelf life of an AT&T ex-pat to IBM is about a year or so...….Win-Win for AT&T and IBM.....No surplus payouts and IBM gets more funding...….

Yeh the announcement is Randall and the Johns are getting phat raises.
Have been through surplus situations outside before. Typically a technician surplus is followed by mgr surplus. 15-20 techs equals one Mgr. or basically the span of control for that organization. Takes time to reassign territory and responsibilities. Of course these days, who knows.
Which groups are targeted?
Managers surplus SW is what I’ve heard. Going to get ugly for us hold on.
@100g3iGI-glq I heard the same rumor. Makes sense, T will no longer have to pay pension, benefits, no employee concessions & office space charged to IBM. Maybe that's why the push for ATO to go back in the office?
