9etk, good point. They have hired too many over degreed but undereducated fools to replace A-teams through the years.
In the spirit of RIF, as in Reading Is Fundamental:
Hans has laid of thousands more than Lowell, who laid off more than Ivan.
Rest assured though when a Hans is brought in to clean up Lowell's messes, THEN layoffs will likely follow.

Layoffs are in salaried management with and with out reports.
Highly unlikely to see 'layoffs' in the craft side. Any employee of this company, management or craft would know that.
Did someone say Verizon 2.10?
Management layoffs are constant just spread out all over it even a few people at a time. I got layed off years ago I was two people because they decided to centralize the group. A year later they were back to having people Not at the same place again to the surprise of no one.
I'm management and my management coworker got laid off last year, so yes management does get laid off. He's not complaining though since he picked up a good job soon after and is much happier.
Yes, but the company has to offer 2 eisp’s before they can lay-off...at least in my local. So let’s talk surplus...not layoffs. You want lay-off talk, go to the wireless page...that’s where the folks are that can be laid off. We have a contract...they don’t!
@100Q2uhe-1btb Isn't this a "layoff" forum?
Simple equation for you
If hans= ceo than layoffs=100%
Wireline num1 wireless num2 and almost gone,5gheee top of the hill
How about you go start a union page and leave this page to us at will, deprived employees? Do you not undertsand what layoff means? Here is a link to the defintion. Just copy and paste it into your browser. Let me know if you get stuck and need help.

This page is not for you. Go away.
How about talking about layoffs on the wireless site?
Since this is a LAYOFF page, what should we talk about? How lazy and entitled organized labor is?
We’ve been hearing about vsp’s for almost a year...the last to accept left in June. The last VSP offered before this one was in 2005. They are not going to offer one every year! No VSP! Rif’s maybe. Let’s move on and stop with the VSP and lay-off talk. If you want to talk layoffs, go to the wireless page. Layoffs don’t affect management or union employees.
This is every year, 4th q. Why is anyone even speculating? Once 2020 budgets are handed out, they will trim to meet that budget so they can start the year with headcount aligned to budget.
Wireline will be sold off. No EISP handout for you!
We can’t get laid off...we have a contract.
(Five) Gee Tennessee what are we going to do? Well Chumley, let's go see Mr. Whoopee, he's the man with all the answers.
Snagglepuss here, "Heavens to Murgatroyd!" ………………..."Exit, stage left!"
B2B will be next ...very soon
Only if you’re on this message board and you’re paranoid about your job.
I'm only paranoid about my exit strategy. I'd like to use a layoff/VSP to my advantage.
Yeah it’s funny some of the people getting promoted. Clueless and little or no integrity. This company going down the tubes
Of course there will be, its Verlieson. They have layoffs every year.
The solution? Either get promoted to director level or above so you get the golden package or quit and work somewhere else. All the talent is long gone anyways.
when and what areas will be affected?
Only if you’re on this message board and you’re paranoid about your job.
That’s funny, I heard that too. Should I be worried?
