Hello all I’m a term fiber splicer in cwa district 4 any news on how the let go or end of term works? Do they give you a 30 day notification or do you just show up on a Friday and get walked out?

@Ziuv6zJ-asf. My term is two yrs will be coming up towards then end of the yr but with all the talks of surpluses they would clearly have to let the temps go before then so according to that email that got sent out I'm starting to believe June would be that time frame of temps getting released before the surplus notifications get sent out right?
I started with T as a term employee, term was for three years. They let me go right at the third year with no notice, came to work on a Friday as soon as I clocked in they call me into an office, collected my badge, walked me to get personal belongings and out the door I went.
I was rehired as a regular employee two months later (different department) and 23yrs later I’m still here.
They should give you an end date... ... might be two weeks out...
When I stared I was term, it was for 2 years. I also knew how long my "term" was so when the 24th month came along, the company had a choice to hire me on or let me go. How long is your term?
You’ll be lucky to get two weeks notice. Know the location of the unemployment office, good luck to you.
