VSP 2.0 Coming Fall 2019

Planning has begun for the next round of VSP. Similar timelines as last year. Identical offer. I work in BR and heard it from several Directors. I guess this is the Hans way. Better than RIFs.

I heard this to be true but no buyout for management just RIFs and a slightly better EISP for Union Employees.

Hearing this from too many people for it to be "fake news". I am ready this time. The lower paid replacements should be up to speed by the end of the year. Us old folks that stayed can go now.

Your all dreaming if you think another vsp is coming. That ship sailed and you weren’t on it.

A vsp only for magic 75+ seems way too bold and ripe pickings for age complaints.

For anyone that took the VSP what did you think of Lee Hecht Harrison? I was very disappointed in their services. The company made it out like they would help with do much. Their resume help was a huge disappointment

I took the package on 12/28 and took 4 months off after 16 years there. I'm on my final interview with a company that's willing to pay me 1.5x what I was getting paid at VZ doing the same thing. Eternally grateful to be gone.

@ZTGPlMv-1aiu I started working in Hanover 2019 and i believe our Director is the same person. So disappointed with him. He never acknowledges me and i see him every day. Never heard of a union and i don't know how they could help. Should I ask my team mates?

Sad to say, I do not believe this to be true. I would be thrilled if it were, since my department is a cluster and I have regretted my decision not to push the button in December. It didn't make sense for me financially at that time but it was a very close call and it would certainly make sense now.

It depends I guess on what part of the company you work in. Network was hit pretty hard, in fact in some locations there trying to backfill positions. Just have to wait and see

As one of the 800 that were denied, I look forward to another possible package, and this time I have the magic 75. I never saw so much talent go to the industry, all gobbled up that wanted to stay in the industry.

What do you mean by union talks?

I happily took the package and was out of there 12/28. I hope they offer another one for the few friends I left behind. I worked out of the Hellover I mean Hanover call center where the VP and director persuaded folks to stay. There’s now union talks...Stay tuned

I never imagined VSP 1.0 would occur 4 months before my planned retirement date, either, but it sure did! Happy camper, to say the least.

I've heard similar rumors as well, though with the VSP limited to those who qualify for the Rule of 75. I'd say it's unlikely they're true, but we do live in interesting times. So who really knows WTF is going to happen. Just hold on and enjoy the ride.

This is the most amusing post I have read in a long time. Go ahead and down vote, but there will be no VSP. Hold on to your hats for the RIFs though.

SOWS means only development no prod support? or will INFY people turn up like contractors and work for Verizon?

How about an EISP???

IMO, no VSP coming, just RIFs in 2020. Also no rebadging this time because they could not solve access issues, just SOWs.

This is BS, I work in BR and there will be no more offers like that one. I was told by a VP who knows it was a one time thing.

@dbx - Your numbers are WAY off.

10,800 applicants / 44,000 Offered = 24.5% of the people offered the VSP had opted to take it.

800 denied /10,800 applicants = Exactly 1%

His 25% may have been slightly off...but nothing seems to be way off with his calculations. All he did was round up a point which is accurate enough for what we're doing here guys.

25% of the people offered the last VSP accepted. Verizon let 24% go and retained 1% of those who clicked yes because their jobs were critical.

44,000 were offered the last VSP and 10,800 clicked yes. 10,000 were approved.

So 44,000 were offered VSP 1.0 and only 10,000 were accepted. With over 30,000 non accepted or non approved VSP's from 2018, why would they offer another one so soon?

And lets not kid ourselves, there were plenty of RIF's sprinkled in with that VSP very quietly while the VSP caught all of the attention.

I have heard the same. I think I will take it this time around. Last time I let my Director talk me out of it with her empty promises. I am now really ready to cut the cord.
