And how many do we really need? If AT&T wants to save money, it needs to look into that.

Level 3 (Director) and up represent less than 1% of T employees so the majority of management is 1st line and 2nd line managers. A large portion of these “management” positions are individual contributors performing technical work, sales, project management and supporting their departments on regional and national levels. In other words, 95% of managers are worker bees like everyone else. Corporate strategy and the overall direction of T is determined at the VP level and up. 99% of management is just trying to do their job.
It’s called Webphone my friend. All you have to do is look.
VP's. It is ridiculous the number of AVP's, VP's, SVP's. These are high salary people. And I'm not even saying they're all bad (some are). We could save quite a few jobs thinning that herd out.
Once all the unions are gone, they will continue to layoff from the bottom up. Wonder who will give Randy the final pink slip.
Too many. But don't expect to see anything change.
Trump needs to step in and block all front line layoffs until AT&T returns the $30 billion in tax windfalls it took promising to hire more workers.
All we really need to do is get rid of the nincompoop at level 9 and we would save the company a fortune in botched business deals and massive debt levels. And maybe the rest of us could keep our jobs then!
To answer your question, Randall S. is the 9th level manager at at&t.
Upper management
Only here for the golden parachutes
Lay-off of all craft will continue until they k--l this company
Then back to BOD @ UPS etc
Way too many. But I see some of the vps got their package and left after ruining people’s lives and the company through their incompetence. Company still has way too many good old boy/girl vps and still could lose a lot.
AT&T had a reduction of levels a few years ago. This issue has been visited, and I would bet someone is keeping an eye on it.
Your grammar has management written all over it.
Core 1st lines are the lowest paid person on the crew.
Think of yourself as the coach, and the techs as the players.
And get spell check or a proof reader.
@-isd management had 2 voluntary layoffs in 2018 and 2 already in 2019 while you lazy techs were roaming around spending double time on jobs even when you were doubling up on them since summer 2017.
i had techs frowning when asked to leave the garage where they were sitting watching youtube videos to go help their peers on long duration jobs or stuck.. most of you don't even help each other you scream unity only when it's time for contract negotiation for more money and when you F-up and get written up. god bless the wireless side of the company and god bless 5G.
Waaaaay too many
It isn't about levels. The problem is the lack of competence in those levels.
I'm just so tired of seeing good people let go while management leeches stay on...
