Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Atlas

Heard they just rolled the Prem techs onto that dispatch system. Makes me wonder how much longer we are going to maintain all of the silos between the different functions. DEG center, Pots Center, SS center, CO dispatch Cable center, etc., etc. With the techs having the capability to handle so much work themselves, automation, the loss of work in so many of those functions there might come a time that they decide to go further than closing or downsizing the duplicate ones.

Atlas is programmed to dispatch idle managers on Uverse installs. All you will need is hand tools as per upper management. Two a day minimum. Get to work and quit trying to act important.

@ZG6ch0M-htz I think they already have the blueprint for it. Soylent Green. I suspect by then the robots will be fueled by Soylent Green fuel cells.

Automation is the future. Within the next two decades nearly all human performed jobs will be replaced by artificially intelligent automation.

I'm not sure what people are going to do with themselves all day when there are no jobs to go to every day. If we haven't invented a meaningful way for people to spend their days by then, this world could become very unpleasant.

Automation is replacing jobs everywhere. If it was your business or money you would do it too. Business is about the bottom line. If you have children they better choose their careers wisely. Factories, medical, retail etc. is rapidly changing.

@ZG6ch0M-qol How is a tax cut a government handout? The government never had the money or gave it to anyone.

@ZG6ch0M-vpj Bet you have to build in testing capability that uses CO equipment that either hasn’t been updated or maintained.

Atlas is a sneaky way to help turn everyone into unprotected prem techs

Congress really needs to step in and stop all this automation and force companies that reaked billions in tax windfalls to keep jobs and block any corporate layoffs from now on. If the company gets a government handout it shouldn’t be allowed to layoff people. Period. End of story. Otherwise pay back the billions you got in tax cuts!

You're good for right now, maybe not next year, it is incomplete at best. still have to use previous engine to do more than just dispatch and close jobs.
