Quite a few of the chronic long term disability brothers and sisters in my area, who've been out for years and waiting for the super EIPP, seem to be calling it quits recently and retiring without. Anyone else noticing this phenomenon? Hmmmmmmm. Perhaps forcing the dead weight out before making an offer to the people actually on the property?

I’m a storekeeper in NJ and hope we get it. I work about an hour a day at most and I’m in a fios location. If not I will keep doing both lol.

Heard from a boss that the VP for our area (NJ) had a conference call and said that there was an eisp coming out in the third quarter for line gang. I asked if it was stated that it was for linegang only and they said no....they never said linegang ONLY but they also didn’t mention any other departments/titles. Hope it’s for more than one job title!

Eisp is not a handout. It is a bargained for benefit that my union secured for me and my family upon retirement.

Understand?

Oh that's right the Union s---s.

Go back to the wireless board.

@6isn, Let me school you youngblood, as your trolling has zero historical perspective or wisdom.

Any one in the know, has seen time and time again, that the when Financial Planners paste garage doors with these flyers in this manner, there is an impending offer.

You would be unaware of that because you are not employed within a realm that is accustomed to offers, or what traditionally precedes them.

If you want to troll, study whatever you’re fishing for, or you’ll keep coming up empty, and exposing your blatant ignorance.

That all being said, while you’re advising one leave now, that would be the height of stupidity. No desperation here, just people who have the capacity to learn from a repeated historical event.

Then go get another job if you are so employable. Stop groveling on this site for a Verizon funded bribe. Its really sad.

The OP said financial planners know something. Really? No they don't, they just want to sell you something like everyone else. Stop being so gullible.

The desperation shows with these weekly "wheres my handout" posts.

“...Then you can start an exciting career as a subway driver since you are all basically unemployable for any normal job.” - 6ksr

  • No one drives a subway.

  • Recently retired craft are very employable. Look at LinkedIn. Look at where they worked, what they did, and what they’re doing now. Or, even easier, talk to craft people about where the good people that once work shoulder-to-shoulder with them, but who decided to take their pension, 401k, and savings and move on, are doing now, if they decided they were too young to throw in the towel completely.

  • Why, in your mind, is a train operator not a “normal job”?

Fiber splicers are in great demand....everywhere around the country. You are talking out of your *ss because your mouth knows better.

@6ksr that's the first I've ever heard anyone say that about the union employees. As a matter of fact, I've heard just the opposite.I know many ex-Verizon union and management employees that were hired by other phone companies and Verizon contractors. These companies LOVE to get their hands on these people because of their knowledge and experience. You sound like just another wireless troll.

@4nmy

What state are you in? What department is your director in charge of? I hope the offer, if there is one, is the enhanced one and not the $10,000 plus $1100 per year. I don’t think very many will go with the small one.

So "they’re" giving the union subsidy handout in September? Then maybe you can start an exciting career as a subway driver since you all are basically unemployeable for any normal job.

I think because the company will come out with a junk offer like no 50k or 1100 per year . That would be a dumb move on their part.

I agree but our director said an offer is coming out and the tech's are not going to be happy. I am in N.J.

They would never give years. They know there are enough people who already have their years and want to go. Give the 50 grand and 2200 a year and they would clear this place out.

The 3 and offer would hurt the people with 30 years or more. The lump sum would go down. I think that there has to be more to this offer ?

@2hpx : I have 27 years and if that is the offer I will be staying till 2023 . That comes out to about a years pay , not enough to move the needle for me . If that want a large exodus , they got to come with a big number

by

Post ID: @2ogp+ZFFnML9

3 + 3 is barely a years pay. It is likely that only those that are 65 to 67 would take that. Company should go to 5 + 3 + 50,000 + 10,000 if they really want to see the protected masses exit the company.

We are hearing 3 & 3 buyout. It makes sense most of the senior techs are in the 27-30 year range. Otherwise we will ride off into the sunset in 2022.

Just become a director on the wireless side and you will get a golden parachute. $50k + $2200 a year is peanuts. Maybe bargain for something better next time like a VSP.

Thanks for the response. If they do not offer 2200 for every year and 50k they are not going to get the # they are looking for

They are so stupid if its a regular eisp. People will stay for another 4 1/2 years. It is amazing that they have plenty of $$$$$ to get RID of the Management but are too cheap for the associates, This will be another dumb move !!

Well, as long as we are wishing, I will choose a special EISP with an off payroll date of Dec. 31.

It would make sense, our lump sums tooth a small jump this week and with 2 fed cuts compared this year our lump sum will increase greatly so I could see a eisp really soon.
