The fact that there are fewer and fewer threads reporting layoffs on this board, even though they are happening on a daily basis just gives me the entire picture of the ill environment that we’re all faced at VZ in this time. Seems that people have gone beyond stress and anxiety and made peace with the fact that nobody is safe.

There’s always a RIF before Thanksgiving/Christmas... just so you can enjoy your holidays that much more.
You definitely must be new here. Welcome to the company!
The first NYNEX layoff called FMP Force Management Plan took place in 1990 after the 1989 strike. The second NYNEX layoff was in 1992. After MCI was acquired in 2006, there were layoffs every year, sometime twice a year, and one year we had 3 layoffs.
Layoffs have been an ongoing, regular fact of life since the fGTE merger. Even going back to NYNEX merger they were starting to happen.
Yes. Nothing new. Frequent layoffs have been part of Verizons culture for over a decade. However, they have accelerated since 2015.
There are silent ones too, a few here and there under the radar, but it adds up quick.
People in prison typically adapt to the environment as a survival mechanism. Ethics, empathy, compassion are not characteristics valued at Verizon, layers of incompetent morally corrupt leadership fill the halls in Basking Ridge.
Layoffs are a continual process. You tend to only hear about them when they either impact large groups, or are enhanced.
And it's a big secret when VZ acquires another company....they sure sell all a bill of goods....job security, promotions, and becoming a V teamer, wish we knew this from the get go.
Layoffs have been occurring every quarter for many years, where have you been ? From the same door we fire, we hire. Just look at recent VSP departures, the company has started to backfill those positionswe lost. granted not all will be back filled
I am just north of 10 years tenure and RIF/layoffs have been occurring multiple times a year for my entire VZ existence. It's the most consistent part of the VZ experience.
