Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Which teams affected?

I had heard that the identity management teams were a focus of recent layoffs. Is that true? Are they sunsetting that product then?

Not always @Yqu1YNc-mqj . There have been cases where development on a product/service having live customers had been abruptly decided to get shutdown & go into sustenance even though there is no replacement or equivalent solution available from O. Why would they do such a thing? Just because that product/service didn't feel like it's fitting into the bigger company strategy by the top leadership present at the time, and that further investment in that space will not give returns justifying the cost and rather they would spend in other areas. Regardless of the revenue being brought by the customers for that product/service (numbers might sound big, ~ $$$ millions, but a pittance in comparison to the scale of fluctuations in overall company numbers which is in $$$ billions).

Historically, Oracle doesn't like to officially sunset a products unless there is a replacement they can sell in it's place.

"Are they sunsetting that product then?" - no idea. Waiting for DJ & CM to open their goddarn traps. Spill the beans and get the suspense done away for chrissake.
