That's what we have been told so many times. They told us that when they got rid of audit and they've been saying it with others. So more people are on the floor to help members.... Do you notice there still aren't enough people on the floor to help members or to fully do their own job? Everyone is still short staffed. People still quit and are not replaced. They know what they're doing. So many are being picked off one by one. When will you have had enough? Serious question. What is your breaking point?

That's a lot of rambling going on here. I don't take a breaking point as anything except the point where someone has had enough and decides to leave the company. I am not the person who posted this but I do remember being told that the reason our audit team was being cut was to have more associates on the floor for members. Now calm down and take a prozac
@abx I do understand what is being said. But our manager never said the company was cutting these positions so there would be more associates to help members. He never explained the why of the changes. He showed us a short flick that talked about change being necessary, and we needed to get excited. At that point, I considered rolling my eyes and giving a good chuckle, but what purpose would that serve really.
Maybe it's because I don't listen to what "they" say. In my entire career, I've learned to take all "their" talk with a block of salt. The only people who really know the reason behind the change is the CEO and the board. The rest is propaganda or plain old bull.
And besides what are you gonna do about their lies anyway? Strikes won't work on a company that's spread throughout the world the way the Walmart Corporation is. They could close every Walmart and Sam's Club in a large geographic region and it wouldn't smudge the ink on their bottom line. Not by much, at any noticeable rate. If you'll recall, in 2015 Walmart shut down five stores in one month over union labor activity. O, yes, they waited a bit to close the stores. They sited plumbing issues as the reason. And what Walmart/Sam's Club doesn't have plumbing issues, but they NEVER reopened those stores. Nor did they rebuild in those towns.
I believe Walmart does work with unions in other countries, countries where the government strongly supports unions. We do not have such support in this country. In this country, Walmart has a hotline where you can report union activity, they will stop unions with playbooks, special teams, hired spies, paint you as a terrorist, and destroy anyone or anything that talks of unions. Do you know why are meat cuts are pre-packaged? Because a bunch a Walmart butchers got together and voted to unionize. Walmart shut down every meat counter in the U.S. and switched to to pre-packaged cuts. So I guess I'm saying what good is a breaking point, if the only thing that breaks is you? It's just a job.
@abx I don't think you understand what's being said.
We are being told they are cutting these positions so there are more associates to help members. But there are still no extra associates to help. The numbers are still decreasing. In other words, they are lying about wanting to help the members.
It's just a job. Why you're taking it so personally? These customers, or members if you must, are shoppers, not our children, family, or friends, (well, not most of them.) They pay to shop here, so we kiss their butts a bit more than they do at other stores.
Don't get me wrong, I'm ok with all the smiling, being courteous, helpful, and going out of my way. I'm getting paid to do that, and that's fine, but I'm not going to sweat the changes the higher ups make. I'll follow the rules. I would prefer not to end up like the employees of Kmart, Sears, Big Bear, Harts, Lazarus, Woolworth or all the other places around here that closed down.
But if the higher ups make the wrong choices, and we close, it won't be the end of the world. I'll find another job. You're allowed to find another job. But for me, as long as they keep paying me and my safety isn't compromised, I'm good. If they get rid of my position, and I can find another in Club, even at a lower wage, I'm good.
My breaking point is when one of their checks bounce.
