Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Cutting Hours, The Breakdown...

  1. Saves company money

  2. Makes for good quartly

report, pleases the stockholders, shares rise

  1. Negatives: This will/has backfired. Customer & employee satisfaction at all time low

  2. Customer service and safety for patient is our concern

  3. Mistakes are being made, mistakes & poor service = lawsuit & money

  4. Cutting our hours to this extreme has set CVS up for failure. Less hours but still have same if not more of a workload. Creates an unhealthy workplace, stress to mind body and soul

  5. Fulltime employee's, normal 40 hrs are now scheduled 6-32 hrs a week. We will lose my fulltime status including family Health insurance if running hrs are less than required.

  6. Having to find hrs. We call other stores to see if they have hours available. This is a gamble each and every week

  7. Have to use vacation pay instead of actully taking a vacation due to loss hours.

  8. Biggest IMPACT:

Losing hours is losing wages, money. Affects many areas of our lives, least favorite, inability to eat as healthy. Butter & noodles, hamburger helper which is gross but affordable. Unless "food" comes from box or can unable to feed family. Fruits & veggies are now a luxury, sad huh.

  1. LOSS of WAGES.

Hours have been cut anywhere from 4 to 34 hours a week.

  1. Cost of living, how are we to keep a roof over heads, feed our children, afford medication, I can't.

  2. Your employees have been through mergers, new policy, acquisitions, cut in hours but not like this, not to this extent. Understand change, this is not change, this is fear, damaging, desperstion.

  3. Our health: Employees, many are suffering from fear, anxiety, depression, thoughts of s---c-de, insomnia, nightmares of work, anger issues, family dynamic and heart failure.

  4. Majority of your best employees have left, the ones who've stayed but so want to quit, stay mainly for the health insurance or have invested many years of hard work that fear of starting over with new employer is daunting. Also loss of health insurance, although, many don't use and forget about going to the dentist, unable to afford co-pays.

Many CVS Employees have been through mergers, acquisitions, policy change, cut in hours but not like this, not to this extent.

Understand as CEO you are employed by the stockholders. We, the frontline, the grunt workers, ask that at some point, please incorporate us in the equation. Invest in what could be CVS's best asset.

.

The employees who are hanging in there are hopeful, wish to succeed, want to be proud, again, that we work at CVS!

We can and want a better CVS with a forward momentum and vision in healthcare.

Let's win back our customers, their trust.

God Bless

Pattern of targeting long time employees and replacing with inexperienced workers at minimum wage.

This is one way CVS gets around layoffs.

As a corporate employee I feel bad for you guys. I know the stores bust their asses everyday but yet I’m lucky enough to sit in a desk and do nothing for a few hours if needed or even work from home if I’m lazy to drive. I’ll be damned if cvs cuts my hours; we get OT whenever we fell like it. Salary employees sometimes don’t even do a full 40 hours. I hear talk from senior managers that it will get better for store employees so hopefully this downhill dive will climb back up for you guys!

Sad and very true about working for this company now. CVS does not care about anyone who works in the stores. Merlo and his other corporate d--k heads don't care about anyone. As someone said earlier, they only care about pleasing the shareholders. That is all. I've been around for a while and it started out as a great place to work. It's been getting worse every year. I've been searching for another place to work. Even if I take a ten thousand dollar pay cut, I'm out. Working conditions have gotten so bad here, everyone's body and mind are breaking down and it's taking a toll not just on me, but on my employees and my family whom I hardly ever see anymore. This company is a cancer. Can't wait to turn in my resignation letter.

To the troll who posted to get another job. Older people find it hard to start over. When you start at a company that was an amazing workplace and good Comp to start with then watch it sink, we just are trying to hang on

Post was not to plead, just my perspective that has stirred a bit of hostility from you.

Stock market opens in about 14 hours. Go short.

BTW

This id--t sold 350 shares in 2015 at $112.00 and another lot of 220 at $80.00 about 18 months ago. My average cost per share. $33.67.

Such an id--t!

There are ways around "having" to get your scripts filled only at cvs. If insurance provider tells you to use cvs this does not mean you have to use cvs.

Union members, have to use pharmacy that employs union workers. Personally told to use cvs by my insurance but use RiteAid which is unionized as well as most grocery stores.

Also discount pharmacy cards. Able to choose whatever pharmacy you want. Sometimes cheaper than co-pay.

Finally, complaints to employers provider, which I'm sure are starting to pile up, change will happen.

...taking on more water

Cutting hours WILL be the downfall of CVS! And that INCLUDES the pharmacy! And yes you can cut hours to the point of no return and the company fails. Much like a ship taking on too much water and before the captain realizes it you’re sinking fast! In the race to please Wall Street, Cvs is taking on too much water! Just wait and see...

CVS does not care. Patients will be required to fill their pr-scrip-ions and pay our inflated costs thru insurance contracts.

Quit believing that customer service matters to them.

Retail front store is currently less than 10% of revenue.

Your days are numbered, if you haven't ...start looking you have some time...but not too long.

100% SPOT ON THIS TRUE!! I agree with EVERYTHING the OP just said! Cvs only cares about Wall Street now. That's it plain and simple. To the poster who said "Shut up", you sir are heartless! IF you work at cvs then you know this to be true. As a HUMAN being we are entitled to a decent standard of working conditions.
