Airgig LOL! Pipe dream, will never happen. Unless its referring to where everyones gig at T goes.
The company rolling out 5g and airgig is a joke when they still have a c-ap 4g and lte network. How bout fixing the issues with that first. At&t still has too many areas where folks are lucky to get one bar or anything above a few mbps. Try using your At&t cell phone in downtown west palm beach. Then borrow your friend’s superior t-mobile or Verizon phone. Embarrassing how t-mobile is now number two over at&t in many , many metro areas. 5g will be much worse as too many objects interfere with it, not to mention At&t once again doesn’t have enough of the good frequency bands that Verizon does for 5g. Verizon is already the winner just based on their ownership of frequency bands in 5g
Airgig is a gimmick. It will never take off because it requires too much equipment and partnerships between AT&T and Electric companies. The Electric companies would better doing it on there own. And Airgig is me the for backhaul mainly so it’s not necessary going to be used in residential applications.
If you care about security you would be smart to NEVER use a hotspot that is not your own
AirGig - Because we already have power lines everywhere. No need to bury/hang fiber. Just modulate the IP traffic across the power lines and maintain the hardware.
5G because people demand more speed and other companies are going to offer it. If we don’t we will lose customers.
How about because fiber won't fry your internal organs.
OP, you need to stop thinking in the past. Technology doesn’t stuck in time. It’s ever changing. And we as professionals have to keep up with the changes. Imagine if the whole world kept in wire technologies? You probably couldn’t even had a website like this to post!
@YcZWtNa-vre. Do you know what Air Gig is??? Doubtful.. LOL. Google it.

5G can easily be used as a hotspot and it is not capped but throttled per line and those throttling speeds are still faster than the 6M or less than offer in most areas.
Wireless 5G plans that are capped and at higher prices than what you already pay for in an lte plan are not going to kill wires. Did you think they where just going to replaced wired with 5G at the same price point? lol
