Watch career path. Anytime you see an obscene increase in job openings know there is going to be a layoff.

This post is one of the most lame ever. Really, really, lame.
"A friend of mine called HR and was told "we are holding those jobs for people who were surplussed" None of us were contacted back when we applied. Just a bunch of BS"
HR is useless and they will through their teeth.
Read something about a major office building they either sold or put up for sale. They also sold their position in Hulu. Those are the bigger transactions. No telling how many smaller transactions are being made. Fiber jobs being cancelled this early in the year is interesting. Typically that happens late 3rd early 4th quarter.
I love rumors! Facts can be so misleading, but rumors, true or false, are often revealing.
This has to be the most id--tic post I've ever read.
I would doubt that we will see the “end” of fiber buildout unless some new technologies hit. Read a article about the government planning to release a huge amount of wireless spectrum which could be problematic. T still has to meet some government mandates, work on the First Net deployment and expand 5G. Beginning to hate the reports of them being ahead of schedule on some of these projects.
A friend of mine called HR and was told "we are holding those jobs for people who were surplussed"
Its all about "who you know". if you don't know anyone, you ain't getting a job. Most mangers are clueless. So, they hire other clueless people, so the managers don't look even more dumb than they really are (i.e. nut doesn't fall far from the tree...stupid is, as stupid does...etc).
It is a game to show "need" and then when unfulfilled ( by design of course) here comes H1Bs request or better yet - friends and family contracting companies
Completely correct! Its just required documentation, for outsourcing. Bogus jobs are posted to CareerPath, manager interviews a couple, manager marks all candidates as inadequate, manager hires someone from 1ndia.
July 23 on the west coast is the end of the fiber build, we are also selling real estate, more to come !
Before being surplussed last March, there was an increase in job openings. After 10 of us got the axe, the "openings" were gone. A friend of mine called HR and was told "we are holding those jobs for people who were surplussed" None of us were contacted back when we applied. Just a bunch of BS
The openings are fake.
It is a game to show "need" and then when unfulfilled ( by design of course) here comes H1Bs request or better yet - friends and family contracting companies. But yes, you are spot on - the wave is coming.
An increase in job openings is a sign of impending doom? This post is an example on why basic economics should be taught in public school.
NOT. There aren't many jobs at The anymore.
Most of the positions there are government related lately asking a lot and paying much less than what a person would be making in the market with those skills.
