@eqe This is still narrow minded. Netflix has gained 86 million+ subscribers since DTV was bought in 2015, and Netflix only was charging $8 - $11 a month. Once the technology shifted, there's no way to compete.

Direct TV was doing just fine before Randall came along. Just sell DTV already, and let them get their company back on track again. Of course you're going to have to sell it for a LOT less than you paid for it seeing as how you completely ruined the business. Way to go Randall!

AT&T Inc.’s pay-television business lost more than 650,000 customers in the fourth quarter, as cord-cutting continued to take its toll, but the media business—now called WarnerMedia—and surging profits in its wireless business helped the bottom line.

HOW CAN YOU SPIN THESE RESULTS?

The company reported a net loss of 403,000 DirecTV satellite subscribers as well a decline in its online streaming service DirecTV Now, which shed 267,000 customers including free trial accounts. AT&T reported a net customer gain of 12,000 at its U-verse home video service.

DTV had superior, American customer service.

Now, a couple of calls in to the cheap, offshore call center is the end for many.

DTV mostly had positive subscriber growth quarter over quarter, but has since slowly ground down to negative subscriber growth within the first few quarters of at&t buying them. This is what you get when a telecom company tries to run an entertainment company. they have no freaking clue what they are doing and at&t even admits they made a big mistake buying DTV. hoping DTV gets sold or spun out so they can get back to making money instead of losing it!
