Now that the number of craft workers has been reduced the company really needs to cut dead wood out of the manager head count. To many low producing 8 to 5 office jockies that produce nothing and cost a bundle.

Being a field foreman was the greatest job in the world
2dap, March 17th cannot come soon enough!!!!!
The more Craft Managers ( who calls them that troll?) cut, the more work that gets placed on Field Techs, with no equitable rise in pay.
The tablet already makes you a dispatcher, a payroll clerk, a safety expert, a mechanic, an engineer, a foreman...with very sad pay increases over the next few years (out-paced by non-represented people)) to compensate forassuming all those duties previously done by others, but now burdening us.
Hire foremen. It makes our workload more bearable.
OP, silly premise. There are already postings to backfill, so there is definitely a need.

Such piss poor management in this company. People in positions that have 0 business being there. Had a VZ exec say "fake it til u make it". That's the mindset of those running this company. Running it into the ground more like it,
See ya s---ers
@hyr.... Craft stands for "Crafting lies about what they did all day when they were hiding from management"
Then go to the wireless talking board , douche .
Sounds like Wireless to me. Not everything is about wireline.
Sounds like a troll. There has not been a craft offer in over a year and our location is down 2 managers. They are actively seeking people for the positions now. They certainly are not letting more go.
Replace them with another new platform designed to reduce your workload and increase productivity. The Verizon 2.0 way or is it 2. Zero.
I just ignore management. They have no continuity, always work in progress rather than planning. Never present when needed, and generally fallen behind on technology so they could not help if their job depended on it. Who has a manager that could step up and fill in if needed? We don't have any with the skill sets required.
Look at you guys complaining that your boss doesn’t care ! Good , then he will leave you alone . Nobody gives a sh-- at this company anymore . The end is near , just over 4 years away !
I would be happy if mine just genuinely cared about quality workmanship. Not engaged in what is going on in the field. Doesn't have a clue and doesn't care. He does know how to join teams to get in the spot light.
What exactly does Craft stand for?
I wish my manager worked 8 to 5. Its more like 8:30 to 3:30, and never answer the phone. Very important person always in meetings but never much to share during team meetings. Don't see the value.
Craft has not received an EISP as of yet.
When were Craft workers reduced?
Agreed. Techs do their work orders, schedule their own work, and the fast desk is removing a load also. Managers 8-5 you never see them in the field, most have fallen behind technically. They even tell you to write your own PA&D so they know what you did for the year. Overpaid under producers need to go.
