Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

This is age discrimination

Majority of people who were laid off by PayPal yesterday are people in their late forties and up who have been with the company for at least fifteen years - those who receive higher pay because they earned it. Can somebody explain to me how is this not age discrimination? Shouldn't this be illegal?

Yes, long history of letting go over 40+ tenured employees, particularly if they do not indulge alternative lifestyles and messaging. Job performance is not a strong correlation to those cut loose (i.e. many were top performers for extended periods of time but fit the above criteria.)

Can we pool together... Is it worth lawyering up if so many 40+ workers were targeted?

Sorry to hear about this...to let good SR people go after that much time/dedication and tenure is seriously cold IMO. Where is the loyalty?
