Middletown NJ is a CZ, for what it’s worth.
Some of the tspace/CRE docs say Seattle, some say Bothwell, and some say Redmond.
Hopefully, somebody from that region will be able to clarify, because the docs are just a mess.
Gotta agree that the tspace and CRE docs conflict all over the place in what things are called.
Newer docs seem to have changed the term "Collaboration Zone" to "Engagement Zone" tho I didn't find a whole lot useful in the info found by searching on the newer term.
Spent much of the day trying to find discreet ways to figure out if my various project counterparties will still be available to do their parts going forward. Already have 2 projects with critical gaps I have no idea how to fill.
This was a particularly disruptive layoff.

Hiring badged employees in these areas.
This is where development work is going thanks to our c-appy vendor agreements with IBM, AMDOCS, and Accenture.
ONLY 3 AREAS MATTER - EL SUGUENDO, DALLAS, SEATTLE (and seattle could go away quite easily.)
The only hub cities that I am aware of are Atlanta (Lenox campus), Dallas, and Bothel. Being in one of those doesn’t give you a pass since quite a few were still impacted.
For the other areas listed, we had folks in our group in those areas that were on the immediate surplus list. YMMV as each team is different. I would say if no one from your team is in your office, you are in serious danger.

It’s amazing how many people fail to pull up CRE website and look up workspace 2020 details. How many fail to go to the workspce2020 tspace and wiki pages to see all the details on collaboration zones and rely on their coworker for information. CRE saves their documents there. Search for yourself people. The info that validates everything is on HROneStop. Go to CRE. Reach out to the people that work in those groups. It’s not hard. And it’s been there for years (as early as 2011) Quit being nieve... your job isn’t needed.

There are 10 zones. Visit the wiki workspace 2020 site. Not 10. There is a lady who updates the page who will answer or correct your incorrect statements about work zones. Wishful thinking on your part but if you think being 49 miles from a community workspace will keep your job, please join my group so we’ll have one more person to lay-off.

Nobody knows what hub cities means because the term has never been used before and nobody knows if Satellite Zones count as valid locations to be located.
October is different than today. October was based on performance ranking and input from supervisor. January is now based heavily on location and saturation of other potential "collaborators" so if you are mediocre and in Dallas or other major hub probably fine. If you are middle scored performer (scale is 1 to 3 now) and in a non major hub you are part of the list and where you fall within it determines your fate.
Of course collaboration zone is just a nebulous corporate-speak for come to the office . Problem here is everyone is trying to tease out what collaboration zone means, it doesn't mean anything, just am empty euphemism, that's part if the misdirection used by management when laying off people. Just like the word surplussed=fired

Collaboration is BS. A joke. Failed leadership got us into this mess.
The ATO letter said collaboration zone and hub cities. Why is everybody only focusing on the collaboration zones? Supposedly, there are dozens of hub cities per state.
The zones obviously will be the big ones (ATL, SEA, DAL, etc) however just because it is on some ppt today doesn't mean it is changing. Analysis done to look at how many employees in a city that report to a given officer level leader. You could be in a city thick with retail and call center but that does not do anything for you if you in ATO and vice versa. Remember these leaders change all the time and so does their functions and minions so where you are on a list will now change as well. Keep in mind for those that do survive your location will be diluted thus you will be lower on the list next time for summer (ie: closer to the line of those to cut) as time goes on. This does not factor in plans to outsource ATO areas as well similar to what TechDev did prior with IBM. Sound similar to Sprint?

NOT TRUE - It doesn't matter if you are located near a collaboration zone. I live near Dallas, TX and was surplussed in October. Fact is T needs to free up expense at the cost of surplussing employees regardless of where you live. Now if you are a telecommuter and WFH full time/most fo the time, that's another joke in itself.
