The company is not going to make a general announcement on how many people took VSP

I think those that got an offer will find out if they are accepted. And I think upper management will have some scrambling to do. But overall, they won't make a general announcement with any numbers. That will kill morale among those staying. Oh wait! There's no morale anyway.

Personally, I'm waiting to find out if my VSP is going to be accepted. I have plans to make and I'm waiting to hear this information before I go too far into my plans moving forward. I wish they would just get it over with and tell people who volunteered before the 10th. This company has gone so far downhill at this point that anyone staying is in for a miserable time. If I don't get accepted for VSP I will be sorely tempted to just leave on the spot regardless because I literally hate what Verizon has put me through these last months between letting my coworkers get RIFd and then being overwhelmed with too much work.

11,000 people took it. About half will go in December, with the remainder next year. Very, very few were denied.

Yes, the company will make an announcement about how many took the package. This will happen either well before or at the next earnings call. The number that exited is not some big secret that should be kept; it may not be discussed at this very moment but will come out on the next earnings call.

I told my manager I punched out. We just got a new guy. So go figure. I telecommute so my access to the rumor mill is limited.

My supervisor asked me how I felt about working until June. I said fine I would do that to help out. They ran it up the flag pole and haven’t received any pushback about it. BUT until December 10 rolls around it’s unofficial. It ain’t a done deal until it’s done. So, is it unfair that I was “told “ my date! I don’t know, I still can’t count on it. Things can change and I wouldn’t be able to b*tch about it because it was UNOFFICIAL.

I agree with @WlPIrUU-iqg. I also heard today (from a very good source close to people that volunteered) that they are getting off-payroll dates, while I'm totally in the dark. The person I spoke to did not know the dates though (and perhaps that wasn't shared). If they are letting people go on 12/28, we should know NOW - not 12/10

Why would they tell you before the 10th when all along they have clearly stated many times that you'll be told on Dec. 10th.
