I have heard from reliable sources that Verizon is asking for Cushman to take over taking care of buildings in New York city and boroughs but not Suffolk and Nassau counties? Wonder why they are left out.

All the telcos are doing it, has to do with taxes, don’t want to own the real estate, selling it and leasing it back.
Fairpoint purchased NE Spinco for $2.7 billion. Cosolidated bought the entire company of Fairpoint for only $1.5 billion. Will Consolidated make the same mistake or go after Frontier instead? Time will tell.
Yeah, Landline facilities for AT&T, Frontier, Consolidated, Centurylink, Windstream, and fiber providers like Zayo, Cogent, and GTT.
You do know that 5g is dependent on wireline facilities right?

the big 4 telecom companies- copper cable - VZ, CTL ATT, and Frontier will all be selling off C.O.’s to smaller providers to get out from under the unprofitable res business. Res customers will be fed via 5G. The big 4 will lease rack space in C.O.s to run fiber to existing and new biz customers. In addition, the other big 4 companies will also compete in VZ footprint. This biz model has been in the works for several years but is now being rolled out at an accelerated rate. this reduces overhead by 60 to 70 percent hence the large # of layoffs by big 4 in 4th quarter.

What "city" are you referring to?
Are you in an area in which fiber has traditionally been done internally to serve larger cell tower sites?
If so, are you making the point that ExteNet is now pulling, splicing, and testing fiber for an internal 5G build to smaller antennae in areas in which CWA or IBEW had been doing so prior for the larger cell sites?
If not, what's the point to your post?

I thought that Verizon had been outsourcing management of buildings for a while at least in certain areas. This isn't anything new but maybe new for that area?

Prolly another step in the direction of focusing more on what execs feel are core/strategic business ventures and less on managing real estate. It is also attractive from an accounting perspective so my guess is this is viewed positively by wall st.
Cushman & Wakefield are big players in the real estate business, and they own buildings that happen to house our operations. What I fail to understand, OP, is how that translates in your mind to, "VERIZON SELLING LANDLINE IN CERTAIN AREAS". Are you suggesting Cushman's entering a new domain, landline operations?

OP, you are aware that Crown Castle has become the owner of many, many cell towers, correct?
In your simplistic interpretation of the telecommunications landscape, does this also mean that, "WIRELESS BEING SOLD IN CERTAIN AREAS"?
If so, I disagree. Who owns the real estate is meaningless in this regard.
