yes, humana does age discriminate. It is HR policy to push older workers out the door - especially those near to retirement age. Naturally, they will not tell you this. However, it will be discussed in discreet emails with your supervisor. Humana is predatory both to older workers in their own work force and in the medicare population in general. Their target population is the medicare crowd in order to capitalize on increased gov't funding in this area. Their public relations and marketing in this area is massive. They push high priced, inferior medicare advantage plans that are then off loaded to Manila for management. Preying on the elderly

How many employees over 50 are planned for layoff? I don't think they would do that. Age discrimination? Or would they? Please explain. How many over 50 were laid off last time?

I think leadership is going to do what it did last year. Get rid of those FCMs over 50.

@VrFPHNh-2ums Review the bonus faq’s. It states Reduction in force associates ARE eligible for the bonus.

I think the metrics and standards are too high purposely so that no one (or very little) would be able to reach incentives.

Telephonic management isn’t going anywhere. It is a need to fill a gap, with in home care, coordination, collaboration and regulations. In home will be non billable and billable, back to what the older model of Medicare home health was decades ago...of the millions of seniors out there, it seems they’ve been actually piloting the funneling and management of the members from telephonic to in home, to manager to monitored and have been ironing out the kinks before the planned merging starts...

Though, I would be concerned about the incentive bonus coming in March and you have to be employed by a certain date to be eligible for it...that would be a date I would be looking for RIFs, if they are going to happen, to happen

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (“CMS”) announced a final rule allowing non-skilled in-home care services as a supplemental benefit for Medicare Advantage (“MA”) plans in 2019.

Lacuna Health and CareLinx partnered just 3 days ago. They will be providing care management and also non-skilled home care services under the health plan. Why do you think they are moving 2LTIH members to a 90 day telephonic trial? Its all about $$$ and who can provide skilled and nonskilled services on a large scale thats cost effective.

Well hot diggity, Lacuna is a subsidiary of Kindred. How handy. A ready made subcontractor. Who knew?

The poster that mentioned Lucuna Health taking over HAH, could you provide more info. That comment was a little out of left field as I've never heard of Lucuna. I'm also not familiar with any of their management team. Thanks for any info.

They will be using a kindred company called Lacuna for care management services. They will be taking over Humana at home. The top executives at Lucina transitioned to this company this summer from Humana.

I do not understand....I thought major focus moving forward was in home care, especially with the Kindred deal. Why layoff FCM? Best of luck to everyone who may be impacted. I am HCCP RN and I do not feel safe. You never know with this company.

Well I do appreciate the heads-up and the transparency, I'm just tired of the constant feeling that I may lose my job at any time. I have never worked for an employer where you're always wondering when you're next on the layoff list

HCCP RN. Yes. They said there would be a staffing impact. They did inform us of that without a specific timeline. They also offered up 39 Telephonic Roles to HCMs. I am not sure if there is an easy way to let people know but I do appreciate that they did forewarn us so we can make considerations for ourselves and our families. So when is the "right" time to do these things? And when is the correct time to do these things? I believe that, with new management that we were given as much dignity and respect as could be given during such a difficult time. I would hate to be them. How do you give the news to people? I don't like the news but I do appreciate the attempts of the newsbearers to be transparent and honest.

My guess is the timing will be just like last year, with the goal of having everyone gone by 1/1. Happy holidays to us.
