Customer service week is coming up! What a joke. My manager doesn't give a hoot about customer service. It's all about that pretty spreadsheet of our "numbers" that he posts every week. Taking care of the customers is NEVER mentioned. In fact, we are basically told to do whatever we need to do, to make the numbers look good.

CODE...lol what a PR sham!!
I cannot imagine any talented young person, working for this company.
No comments today, about customers during customer service week. It was an imperative that I wear my hands up t-shirt. It was like the most important thing that I could do, today. My manager mentioned wearing it twice today. I put it on, because I actually felt sorry for this mind numbed individual. This once fine company, has jumped the shark. This place is truly a kindergarten. We can no longer access the internet. Zero tolerance. Yet managers can still pretend to manage and take their 2 hour lunches, show up on the weekend four 4 hours while on duty and take two whole days off during the week cause they "worked" the weekend. This is the playpen that Randall created. I have never seen it worse.
Ne a good corporate soldier and f--- people billing, e.g. , double billing, late fees, termination fees, bait and switch, T corporate C_suite will love you.
T is an extremely unethical company. However, sometimes you need to do some dirty stuff in order to keep food on your family's table. If you don't learn from that and make it motivate you to get out, then you're truly unethical. Don't bother going to HR, they will get you fired.
@VofJfyZ-2ukc. I wasn't referring to any illegalities. I was talking about providing a substandard level of service and passing the buck just to make artificial metrics. We have no quarrel.
@VofJfyZ-2gbj Although I understand and agree with your overall sentiment, when you state,
"Even decent people give up and say the hell with it. And compromise their ethics and standards and just do what they have to do, to make their metrics and keep their mangers off of their backs."
I have a problem with that. Decent people will not compromise their ethics or standards. Even to their own hurt. Yes T takes advantage of us. But ultimately it is up to the individual to set the standard and not compromise.
"quit acting like a millennial". I do get your point. Most of us are very fortunate to be employed and well paid. However, there are many of us that want more for this company. We have experienced back in the day (Pre-Randall) how great this company actually was. We really took care of the customer. We had pride in our work. Now all we do, is chase numbers. These numbers drive bad behavior. Even decent people give up and say the hell with it. And compromise their ethics and standards and just do what they have to do, to make their metrics and keep their mangers off of their backs. Management puts obstacles before us, that we must first overcome and only THEN, can we take care of our customers. Lord help the creative people at HBO.
I do go to work and try to be happy but the environment is toxic, and the stress and upper-management incompetence directly affects my work.
You might be OK with putting your head in the sand but those of us who are proud of the work we do and try to do a good job for the company actually think and have suggestions.
Continue to sing Randy's happy song if it makes you feel better, you might also try putting your fingers in your ears, close your eyes and think about your next Happy Meal.
Slamming someone as a millennial is just another sleazy way that management uses to try and divide us.
Why don't you all try this. Go to work. Be happy you have a job for the moment. Put in your time, get your paycheck and quit acting like a millennial. There are so many people that don't get or have the chance right now to live even as miserable as you are.
The best real act of customer service would be to give Randy and his cronies the boot out the door with no golden parachute. Spend the money saved on improving customer service and the network.
A history of deceptive sales practices, bait & switch offers, and taking adventage of subscribers, i ve been there, witness many illegal maneuvers, scams, but who cares right?
Customer Service week, what a joke. I can't wait to see the continuous TV loop set up in our office w the girl from Slovakia who is part of the groups that work for maybe a dollar an hour, stealing American jobs . They even had the nerve to send us ACT knowlegents showing agents in BRNO , etc ....they never tire of insulting us .
Mr. Witness is spot on !
Customer service is just a slogan, it is as empty as Randy's heart.
sign and cancel 30 days later, It works like a charm, bubble-up those stats, lol
But we get cup cakes, and a T-shirt!
Customer non-service week. It is all about passing the buck, and getting the customer off your phone and not really solving the problem. I got a commendation from the Office Of The President for taking care of a particular customer. I did it by ignoring all the stupid a-- metrics and just doing the right thing.
I have witnessed my manager fudging the numbers before submitting them to the area manager. The problem..... my numbers were ridiculously high. He actually lowered them before forwarding them, to the AM. This is a phenomena that never occurred under Mr. Ed Whitaker. This is Randall's deal. He is a numbers man, who has no real experience or concern, about individual customers. He is creating a hatred of AT&T by those that still use legacy services such as POTS and DSL. The service provided to our millions of customers who still subscribe to these, is pitiful.
Wireless is told the same thing!!!
...,.............Still laughing......thanks
