Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Customers 90%+ service

8 customers standing in front of the store prior to opening. 3 employees there to help. Not one customer wanted to get a phone. Email problems, cracked screen, returns etc. You should see the employees. Plus, the customers will be there for an hour+. Great experience. Lol.

Going into a store is like being a fresh piece of meat surrounded by vultures. It's a terrible experience.

When the wireless crybaby headcount is brought down to the reality of the commodity product they are part of, wireline will still be here supporting it all like we do now.

@5uqs, why can’t you just heed @4oaq’s advice?

You seem obsessed with us.

Any chance of leaving us alone for, say, 5 years? Then we’ll talk, and see who made out better.

You’ll be older and, if things play out right, more mature, more capable of an unbiased conclusiion based on the indisputable reality in that’s unfolded in front of your own eyes Baghdad Bob.

BTW, how was Hoolihan’s?

Pretty much sums up a day in the life but mangers continue to hound. Mid transaction coachings to discuss strategy. Then one on one coaching after if you failed to get $100 ard plus strategic plus hum. Then there’s days where you don’t even sell one phone, traffic is slow and what’s coming in is CLNR help me transfer my stuff over. “I just figured I’d come in and have you do it so I don’t screw it up” . Then there is the well I don’t want any of these things I just don’t like them ....yet they have cases on their phone and the amazon screen protector for you to put on cause they’ll ruin in. So you’re forced to take a hefty return ....get nothing out of it AND have it hurt your ARD average. Then management wonders why so toxic and people keep calling off.

Just living the dream

@2unn...my God that is a horrifically accurate summation of 90% of my day and customers. I used to be social. Now I literally cannot stand people anymore.

That post by “Nobody” got me in my feels. That’s all this job is now. It all started when they got rid of our RSS’s. I have vacation this week and I might not come back.

Circuit City went of of business because of the Best Buy business model. Big bright and open stores with open floor plans and employees that didn’t work on commission. Circuit city tried to copy Best Buy by remodeling all stores to mimic Best Buy floor plans. They got rid of the the long sleeve button ups and went to polo shirts and khakis and got rid of commissions. This was all too late of course because customers did not care. Customers already had made their that Best Buy was their store and Circuit City was doomed.

Can you help me? My phone isn't acting right, I can't receive my verizon.net emails anymore, I forgot my Gmail/apple id/hotmail password, my phone keeps popping up with these ads, my 5+ year old phone won't hold a charge anymore is it still covered under warranty? My phone won't turn on but don't worry about the half dried liter of cola underneath my broken OtterBox case it's never had any liquid damage. I just got my replacement phone can you help move all my stuff from this phone to that phone? The authorized retailer 45 mins ways said I had to come to the corporate store to set my phone up. My flip phone won't go any louder. People can't hear me when I talk and no it's not because I hold the phone 3 feet away from my face. I can't hear anybody when they call me, what do you mean you don't repair screens/sell batteries/warranty broken phones? I want to speak to your supervisor.

I'm so f---ing sick of people and I'm so f---ing sick of this job.

@iiu .... hmmmm, mistaken about the Circuit City commissioned sales reps. Those guys made a lot of money for CC and for themselves. That is what sales is about. CC got rid of them because CC were barely hanging on and thought that if they got rid of the commissioned people and replaced them bubble gum chewing teenagers at minimum wage they would get out of debt.

As we know, Circuit City went teats up. Number one complaint from people coming in to look at $1000 dollar plus electronics was there was no one knowledgeable there to help them. A teenager could give a sh-- less about selling something.

Circuit City shot themselves in their own foot when they got rid of the commissioned sales team.

Get used to it. Nobody wants to come to the store to buy because they don’t want us to upsell them. We are unfortunately to blame for this happening.

The same thing happened to Circuit City. People got tired of the commissioned sales rep always trying to sell them things they didn’t come in for and so they went to Best Buy where the employees don’t care what you buy.

And remember several years ago you had employees specific to help with those issues. Now sales people do them and you dont even get compensated for it. Way to be walked all over.
