Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Fake News

Most of you complaining are probably bottom performers that should be doing something else. Sorry no handouts getting lucky by clerking. Those days are over, time to sell. Most of the stuff on here is fake. And are posted by losers. No one is forcing you to stay. You can choose to leave or stay either way it's your decision.

I loved this job up until this year and now I'm just waiting to get fired. This attitude is why no one likes working here anymore. The number of things there are "zero tolerance" for and the number of things I'm supposed to remember to say during a transaction, which btw is supposed to be a conversation at least in training it was portrayed that way, has gotten so overwhelming I can't keep up with it all and there's many customers where it doesn't even make sense to say them all but directors would rather us be robots than real salespeople. Not even supposed to set things up for customers or troubleshoot anymore so why are we here? I used to worry about getting fired but I'd welcome it now. It's obvious they're trying to get rid of retail reps in general and I doubt commissions will even exist next year.

Sadly, OP sounds like every person in executive leadership that I've met in my time with VZW - especially my DM. I'm an SM in a small store and on my way out (I accepted an offer with a different company this week), but I agree that OP's attitude runs rampant throughout VZW and I also agree that it's wrong to have. Personally, I always tried to step up for my reps. I found out early that happy reps make for a happy SM and I didn't care if the DM didn't like that. I always considered myself a "player's coach".

As for the Wireless Leadership Academy, I have seen absolutely ZERO change in leadership's management style since coming back from that circle jerk. Crappy managers are still crappy and the managers that care still care. What a complete waste of 27 million dollars. Wait until commissions change next month. They don't change commissions to make people more money.

Verizon is a great thing to have on your resume. Build up your skills and look for a company that will appreciate you - even if you have to take less money. Life's too short to be stuck slaving away for someone who doesn't care about you.

Dm's are the most out of touch POS ..... Let's write everyone up and coach them out, with the unattainable numbers we have that will leave NOBODY IN MY STORE!!! But the idiots don't think of that, not to mention the fact that everyone in my store from GM down is sick of the micromanaging and bs. Maybe if this company decided to have leadership that led by example, not by intimidation employees wouldn't hate being here day after day. I would love to see managers and DMs have to sell for a month and hit these numbers, and be told no matter what you do it's never enough.

You're just upset because your mama told you to take that part time job at McDonald's or move out of the basement.

I'm a solutions manager and I don't share the poster's opinion at all. OP is definitely up higher than SM position. I would bet it's DM level.

The big training all the managers were sent to (Leadership Academy) where they taught everyone how to coach and positively affect our teams went to trash because DM and above don't give a sh-- about it. They only want numbers, which I get - this is sales position and we must sell, however the targets are just impossible to attain.

I was required to put in 2 coachings per shift. There were some objections, so suddenly we are "only" required to put 1 coaching per rep per week. With 4 managers that's still a lot of coachings - which makes them totally ineffective.

Now I just got a coaching on myself by GM for the store not attaining metrics for the day. Like it's all in my control. Apparently I'm supposed to make sure i get involved in every transaction (I was the only manager on duty for the whole day by the way). I'm also expected to handle all escalations, every system issue reps are having. And also I'm expected to put in negative coaching for every rep that worked that day because we didn't achieve $100+ ARD, 70%+ tmp and 20%+ PT. Oh and what lunch or breaks? Bell to bell with no breaks.

I wish I had gotten laid off.

May be this post should say I’m a cry baby SM, please sell for me so I can make money. Such a shady position. The company is just trying to make it justified. Such a joke now. In August when our new CEO takes over, the Assistant Managers cannot go by, it’ll be a chaos. Having said that, We really need a Union at this point to take over this blood bath which is going to happen very soon.

Whoever posted this, is either a manager or a frustrated individual himself (Assistant Manager). It seems like he/she is doing a “Post” Mid Coach lmao......hahahahah. Dude if ur so frustrated, then don’t be putting ur frustration on everyone else, at least on here. We all truly understand that u guys have a “Coaching” target to achieve but so sorry if u ain’t able to achieve it, but don’t be saying that Solutions Specialists dont do jack. We make sure we do our job right & do it what’s righteous for our customers & if someone goes without a “HUM”, its not about us, its the customer choice, have we heard the term “Integrity” oh yes we have. See it, acknowledge it & then come up with ur BS a-- coachings. Btw, if ya’ll didn’t know we all have a right to say “NO” if he/she don’t agree with some or the other kind of coaching given to us. All of the SM’s make it seems like coaching is not a bad thing, but it is & when it turns to b a “PIP”, I repeat “PIP” it’s VERY big deal, so don’t fall for that BS so stand up for urself & say “NO I DO NOT AGREE WITH THE COACHING” simple. There has been a great deal of Politics played in this company & there’s gotta b a way, that way or the highway at this point. We’ll talk abt it next month when it all hits the fan.

Hats off to the paid agents of management who post here and hide what’s going on. The reality is due to the recent lay offs of SMs, they’re putting all their anger & frustration on Solution Specialists. Just about everything which gets posted here is very true or nobody would even browse this website. Before telling anyone to get out, define the work which ya’ll put in besides sitting in the back and putting stupid, nonsense coachings. There has to be a Union based on the amount of work the frontline people put in to make sure people above like u get paid. With the new commission structure that’s changing in a few days its crystal clear that targets and commissions are going to be a joke & there was a post about it a month ago or so. So kick rocks bud, there ain’t nobody paying attention to ur stupid a-- post, at least the smart ones.
