Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

TK's 10 year reign and Oracle's stagnation

Just coincidence or there is a correlation?

I would expect to see some important people leave in the next couple of months. It's pretty much overwith at Oracle.

I always wondered by anyone from AWS would leave to come to come Oracle. With Oracle stock headed no where there can't be much incentive for these folks to stay.

TK's a-- will be grass.... but not right away. They first have to blame and demolish the sales force. Then when they find that makes everything worse..... which will take a year or so.... they will turn on engineering, finally. They will then place the blame where it belongs.

Sh--ty cloud development and sh--ty cloud development managers.

SO TRUE ---> MH will go down in the history as a CEO who brought down 2 company - HP and Oracle

Well, DJ has been with Oracle for 4 years now, possibly more since he left AWS in 2012. And after all that time Oracle has bugger all to show for it!

What happened to the AWS people they hired? Are they all gone?

Must of had to pay them a huge amount to get them to work for Oracle.

I hate to tell you but cloud v2 was/is crap to start with. And you can’t simply hire from outside, Oracle’s reputation is such that you won’t get anyone remotely sane to sign up for it.

The gravevine is the valley circles is that he has been interviewing outside for a whole. But I guess his reputation comes in the way. If he succeeds it will be good riddance for Oracle.

Refugees will kill cloud v2. They should hire from outside Oracle, but they won't. They would need to lay everyone else off, and that won't happen. It will be overrun with incompetence.

This will fail also, as people from other places in Oracle move in on it.

@T5fietm-dhms, I agree completely. OPC (OCIC) refugees are already moving in. No team can handle that kind of influx of unskilled warm bodies and stay productive.

@T5fietm-oru

A few years ago, oracle has hired people from aws and built a new dev model out of scope of tk.

This will fail also, as people from other places in Oracle move in on it. There is too much corruption and incompetence in the Oracle management to make anything work.

It could also be that TK stays where he is, because he is doing exactly what LE wants him to. Make a fake cloud so that LE can continue to acquire other companies and make money on each deal.

Ars holes like him survive when 74 year old ex-visionary like LE is busy playing with 20 yrs old Ukranian chicks-- spending his money.. this ship has no real captain... stop the denial...

TK is completely lost when it comes to modern technology. He is like a dear caught in the headlights of an oncoming truck. All he knows how to do is yell and curse at his own people. Sure, everyone's scared of him. But how does that help us? No one (and I mean NO ONE) respects him. A leader that does not understand the difference between fear and respect is no leader at all.

Not a coincidence. Bad decisions and bad management.

The kind of decisions he has made about products as well as people is the reason Oracle is struggling for revenue. Not a coincidence.

A few years ago, oracle has hired people from aws and built a new dev model out of scope of tk.

Now they are aligning the existing OPC dev team to this new model.

exec at oracle realized that their old dev team organization (tk org) cannot compete with AWS and other cloud competitors (tools and methods are out dated).

I don't think tk will stay long at oracle.

mh should also be laid off soon, because he is completly out of the business (too much medics ?).

Don't worry for him, he will get enough money for organizing it's own great funerals soon.

No one will miss him.

Exadata cloud machines service is just a joke, and no cst is going to buy this kind of service.

I used to work in TK's org. He was so unpleasant to deal with that nobody below him was willing to pass bad news upward, or point out flaws in the top-down product decisions or schedules. (and all schedules were done top-down)

Fitting since MH LEADS ALL HIS TALKS to Oraclers with the point that the average lifespan of an S&P index company is shrinking into non-existence. He’s setting expectations low and his baseline is DEATH 💀 of the company. Anything above that is a win for him. DYING ON ARRIVAL is still alive in his book. LE has boughtvinto this. Probably bc he’s near death unless he can somehow freeze himself for later.
