SPS Marcom org was just told if we don't already work in the Fort Mill (US), Bracknell (UK) or Bucharest (Europe) offices, we no longer have jobs. Those able to relocate (without assistance) must apply for a position, no guarantee their old job will even still exist. The requisition list was just released today - most of the remaining jobs will now be located in Bucharest. Some will jump ship as soon as possible, and some will stick around to train their cheaper replacements.

Last day was Jun 1st for more than 25 people
My advice is start looking immediately. These leaders do not care ANYWHERE in Honeywell. They will replace you in an instant with 3x the manpower in Bucharest, although those folks will need tons of handholding. We have been in limbo for more than 3 weeks now waiting on what the end date will be. Interviews have started but no word yet if anyone who applied and willing to move has gotten one of the few positions left. Good luck to them as they are losing a lot of people with a lot of tribal knowledge.
There was no warning that it was coming. VP called us all into a meeting and dropped the bomb without giving any helpful details. Horrible.
Jobs were posted within a week, and we had a week to apply for them. They are conducting interviews now. We were told there will be severance for those not able to relocate or for those whose job is being outright eliminated or sent overseas. Many of us have not been told what the severance is or when our last day will be.
How much warning time did you get? Our group is rumored to be next? Did you get 2 weeks or 2 months to decide? If you decline to move is it a RIF or are they saying you are abandoning the job so no severance and no state unemployment either??
Confirmed. No relo assistance if you even get one of the jobs in Ft Mill
Anyone who finds a new job outside of Honeywell, don’t give notice. Just quit. Honeywell deserves no courtesy, considering its contempt for its workers.
This is a morally corrupt company, people are literally crying. This company doesnt understand that people have their family. Lets do some damage
Agree, sad to see this happen. I'm not sure how this company can post signs promoting team work and employee value when it's such a blatant lie. Share holder value is the only value that they have, at all costs to employee and customers.
Employees affected have until Wed to apply. At least 30 in US affected with only 10reposted jobs. No word or details on relocation or when your last day will be if you aren’t willing to relocate... will be handled on a case by case basis. Was rolled out without HR having answers to basic questions... not super organized. Just remember... Honeywell has no qualms about how they treat any employees and just because they need you right now, does not mean they will cut you in an instant when it’s convnient for th m. Save what you can and look for a way out.
@SdXcUOp-1rfe: Regarding the investor talks. have you got a clue as to where in the presentation this is mentioned? don't plan to listen to 4 hours of b---s---.. thanks!
This is the most sh--ty things happening in Honeywell. Mark C Honeywell would cry
There are more than 200 employees affected by this, this week will give a clear picture. Lets see
How many people are in scope of this? 5, 15, 50?
There is some basic move package information inside of HRDirect but it isn't very helpful
Just some basics on trips for relocation and they will pay 2 months of your rent if you are breaking a lease
I heard if you sign up for a move package you have to stay for 18 months after you move and if they fire you for cause or you quit you have to pay back the moving costs
@SdXcUOp-1bhu as you said that people in hgr will not be affected does it mean they will keep doing what they are doing and they dont have tp apply on portal for jobs?
I have heard people in APAC/HGR are not affected at this time. Severance will be offered. Employees that are going to apply for new positions and are willing to relocate will be able to negotiate start dates based on factors like selling current homes, etc. But the number of jobs in America is reducing drastically, and are mostly just a few managers. Anyone considered a resource will be located in Romania.
Yes they would be given severance but not sure how much. The funny thing is, you will not be provided relocation expenses.
Does someone know what will happen to people based in India, since we are alreadh cheaper human resources.
This is aligned to comments made in the February investors conference call. The recording is on www.honeywell.com in the investors subpages for events past.
They talk about aggressive consolidation to hubs with most action in 2018 and finishes over next 5 years
Sounds like people first and plants will start now and finish in 5 years
If you do not move do you get Severance?
In EMEA they likely would get severance and Canada too
What are USA employees being told about severance?
Do they have a deadline to decide and to arrive and start work at new locations?
Yes, this is true. If people wants to move to these locations, they will have to apply to their own jobs listed on portal and face the interview. Then there is no guarantee of selection even if you do well. It is all fishy
Sad to see what the organisation is becoming . I think we will all face similar options soon.
