Sam’s is changing completely it’s so out of control. They making decisions based on Amazon and they so want to be like them. Sad thing is they could never compete against Costco, so they’ll never beat Amazon. We will continue to cut jobs eliminate talent and throw money out the window. Our culture of what was is no more they don’t care. New philosophy we’re a dime a dozen if you think your safe your not.

There will be changes to all lead positions.
saturday at 12 midnight starts a new pay period. Makes total sense when your changing the wage of everyone involved.

Nobody is safe
Our club has not had a receiving lead in over two years. Just clerk,
truckload associate, one dock associate during the day.
The club I am familiar with says the day receiving lead does the early shift, the overnight receiving lead does the evening shift. No other announced changes for leads.
So are teamleads safe for day receiving?
Confirmed. But a limited number of clubs. 20 I think in this phase. Mostly those without overnight receiving hours due to neighborhood restrictions.

That. Being said i think the company will be surprised at how many take tje severance given the loss off differential and the fact the many night associate's are on nightsfor a reason. So longer term i would expect openings in those shifts for other associate's aho may be interested. But that has yet to be seen.
"everyone" are the current members of the night crew in the stores that are eliminating night shifts in this current wave of transitions.
Who are you referring to when you say everyone?
Yes as of July 6th. Everyone will be offered a position on either the morning stocking shift or the evening stocking shift. Anyone who has been there full time for over a year who doesn't find or take another position will be given severance. From my understanding this is being done primarily in clubs that only do receiving in the day for now. Many clubs cannot receive at night due to local noise ordinances etc. It's those clubs that are effected by this change. Whether or not night receiving clubs will ever see this change is anyones guess at this point.
So is your club "getting rid of the night crew" ?
If anything is changing even club manages don't know about it yet. Was brought up during the "we're getting rid of night crew" meeting this week and as far as the club manager knows team leads are safe "for now"

What happened to the other clerk (severance or fired)? If the Co plans to eliminate the Invoice Clerk, why hire another f/t Clerk?
Weird thing is my club is actually opening another FT clerk spot. Thought maybe they were getting ready to clear out the dock area, demolish the office, and put steel in to start unloading during the day.
