There are definitely other jobs. I regret ever working for an insurance company. The convenience of working at home does not outweigh the micromanagement, lack of professional respect and outright nonsense. I know they pay well, and for people with limited options in their area it seems like a good deal, but I feel like I bargained with the devil

There are jobs posted right now at Humana for WAH in areas other than HAH. A lot of nurses like Humana, but they are in other areas. I am pretty sure other managed care companies have WAH staff doing medical management too.

I understand your anxiety and I do not want to return to bedside nursing either, but I am going to do what I have to to support my family. Have you considered hospital case management? It least the hospital is more stable. Whether impacted or not, I will be looking. This instability is too much. ln the town hall meeting it was stated funds are needed to offer members better plans... in my opinion, the benefithis Year are the same or less. No more MAP, OTC benefits and well done not offered on all plans.

@gwa - Still worth a shot. I have had several emails to set up interviews and if you are looking for an insurance company, their hiring process generally takes a very long time.

There are lots of jobs for nurses that are not bedside. There are others that are work at home as well. I’m not sure why everyone thinks this is the only one out there. Sounds like you need to be a little more flexible though, you can’t just shut yourself off thinking this is the only job for you. You may not have a choice. Look into case management.

A lapse of time in your resume will not look good. It isn't your fault if you get laid off. I think HR verifies that you were employed by Humana and the dates. Anyone else have input on this?
