I have been with Humana for more than 7 years and have an ADN. But then I also have two bachelor degrees and an MFA but none of them are in the nursing field. I know of many ADNs hired by Humana over the years. Your level of training has little impact on whether you are kept or laid off. It is the merit of your work combined with multiple other factors on a point sheet that matter. That is then submitted to HR who make the final determination based on factors such as maintaining diversity etc. it really is pretty much of a crap shoot. Good luck to everyone. I am still trying to figure out which is worse-getting laid off or keeping your jobs and being miserable with increased expectations...
@1uhz- incorrect....hcmss went through many being hired and qualified to do their job, then they did a job requirement change and many became PHCs that are getting laid off. Some hcmss don’t have a license and were hired to do the job on their qualifications. And now that the desired may be a requirement, they may be impacted. If the role requirements change, you’re not grandfathered in
Not hire with a ADN? Really I am team lead with a ADN, my last com was and coach. No impact.jmo
I am a BSN laid off last round. I was also a new hire.
I think it depends on the individual nurse. I was working with a Master Degreed Nurse that was horrible. let us just say, she didn't make it.
They don't check qualifications. if you have enough to fit the role essentials it is not used against you. If that extra qualification has made you better at your job, that would be measured, just not the qualification.
I have an ADN I have been with Humana 3 years. Who knows. I have had others cut from my team in previous layoffs with BSN. I do have a bachelor's degree, just not in Nursing
The idea of operating at the top of your license means practicing to the full extent of your education and training, instead of spending time doing something that could be effectively done by someone else.
I do not think that has any bearing with our time and rif
I have a ADN, and have been with Humana for several years. I know of a nurse with her Masters was let go last rif. Who knows this go around? Might be dependent on the phase of the moon.
There are multiple ADN’s on my team. I have a friend who started in July and she has her ADN.
Humana does hire ADN RN's. I have several on my team and they were hired within the last year or two years. I wonder if this is what they meant when they said "practicing at the top of your license"?
Did you hear this from a reliable source?
I didn't think Humana even hired nurses with ADN?
No idea if it matters or not. I have a BSN, but two people let go from my team last RIF had their MSN. Who knows what criteria is being used for sure.
