I'm planning on leaving in a month or two regardless, but hear me out. There is a mass exodus at our store. People are leaving in droves and we are so short on people it's not even funny. We recently lost a full timer who was also a key carrier (like myself), however, HR and the store manager practically begged this person to stay as long as possible, and offered a temporary "raise" (if that makes sense). I never thought raises were even possible but it was pushed through. This person agreed to tough it out until after New Year's and then left.
So, being that I am a full timer (doing MOD tasks in the process) and the store really can't afford to lose me when it can't hire anyone or keep anyone past the training period, let alone brace for another chunk of CSM/MOD coverage going away, I wonder what would happen if I put my two weeks in. Do you think I would be offered a similar concession? Has anyone heard of something like this at Sears? It sounds exploitative and I'm certainly not denying that it isn't, but at the end of the day I look out only for myself. Might as well get that temporary boost in pay before splitting, ya know? Who wouldn't?
