Layoffs happened today at Oracle HQ at least. 2/27/2018 From what I hear, it was a big one.

The suspense is killing me. Someone needs to elaborate on this.

They were being laid off at the beginning of the quarter. June 1st, Sept 1st, skipped Dec 1st, and now back on schedule with Mar 1st. The holiday quarter appears to have been skipped, but they were doing it at the very beginning of the quarter.

The past practice was that people were laid-off before the end of the quarter. Doing it at the beginning of the quarter would be a break from that.

That doesn't mean that they wouldn't do it.

Make sure you're signed up for FedEx notifications.

Maybe there will not be layoffs this quarter, like previously. Maybe they have been pushed to the next quarter? So, I'm betting March 1st.

Maybe the rumored SEC investigation is going on? They were unsure of something? Maybe the results for next quarter are really bad? And they want to offset those results with a large layoff in the next quarter to show the stock holders how responsible they are? I that case, maybe layoff in mid-March when results come out? Not sure.

Wouldn't the layoffs have to happen before the quarter ends?

This coming thursday is march 1st. Seems like a prime target for layoffs. Still lots of money marked for severance packages.

Does anyone know what kind of package an hourly employee gets if they're laid off from Oracle ?

In such a case the revised numbers for the week ending 2/25 are total FY18 YTD 8,145, and since 6/1/2016 18,145. Thanks for the info. All the best to those who were laid off!
